Title: Hello everybody!
Post by: sarahmarie.butterfly on October 16, 2014, 08:22:30 PM
My name is Sarah and I am new here.  I am new to a lot of things recently [emoji6] !  Within the last year I have resurfaced some buried feelings and thoughts (seems more are resurfacing everyday) and I feel it is time to join the community at large.

A little bit about me:  currently living as a married 37 yr old male with 2 beautiful daughters (7 and 3).  I am currently living in the conservative state of Oklahoma which should give a clue as to why I haven't surfaced my feelings sooner.  Tough to accept your true self when you are young, impressionable, and told or teased into acting like your 'physical gender'.

I am not out to anyone but this forum yet.  My wife is first on my list as soon as I feel I have gotten a handle on my own acceptance.  I won't be proceeding without her knowing anything first.  I need her support because I am pretty sure my dad and brother will probably lose their ->-bleeped-<-, or at least tease the hell out of me.

That's it for this post!  I will be posting again soon!

Love,  Sarah.

Sarah
Welcome to Susan's family
Jessica is from Oklahoma so maybe you two are close for moral support. I would seek out a gender therapist to help you on your needs to move forward.

Hi Sarah, it's nice to meet you! I'm the one with the Boston accent. The good news about coming out is that once you've done it, you don't have to do it again. Honest and open communication is going to be critical to maintaining your relationship. You're facing lots of hurdles, but you can do it! See you around the site!

Hugs, Devlyn

Thank you everybody!  It feels very good to have a new loving and very accepting and open-minded extended family.  :).

I will definitely be sharing more as I am excited to learn and grow into my buried yet lightened sense of self.  For so long I have wanted to open up and I finally have accepted the fact that I can.

Thank you!

Love, Sarah.
