Title: How are hormones shared between twins in the womb.?
Post by: Mark3 on October 21, 2014, 12:03:17 AM
I have a difficult question that's been bothering me.?
Maybe you can add some insight.?

So, I am a twin, but with a twin sister (died during birth), not brother..
My question is could I have had some female hormones while in the womb, since my twin sister was likely getting them, and is that a possible cause for my female tendencies now as an adult.?

Usually it's twin brothers, or twin sisters, but it seems rare to be a twin brother/sister.?

Any thoughts.?

I know a number of twins that are brother/sister including my own. You make your own hormones. There isn't really any crossing of them unless you share placenta and sac which fraternal twins don't do. There can be some but not  that much.

My mother told me that there were originally two heartbeats until there was only one: me. I like to say that I absorbed my sister. :P I don't think there's any conclusive evidence of Vanishing Twin Syndrome playing a part in trans identity, but it could very well be a small part if it's comorbid with others. I've got that going, plus XXY. Come on, science... figure this sh*t out already!

Thats exactly how I feel sometimes..
I hope and wish it's true, it would be a wonderful gift to have part of her in me..
