Title: Chipper's statement and my response

Normally I would handle this in private but with the 10+ posts today I made an exception in this case.
Oh goody I get to have some fun tearing this screed apart.
That's roughly 1 post every 3 days over 1095 days, with only 4 applauds? That's unusual...
When you see hypocrisy, staff or members being abusive in public posts or private messages, there's a little link at the bottom right of the post or pm. For posts it says Report to moderator, for private messages it says Report To Admin. When you click that a report goes out to all of the moderators and/or the admin. While a mod can close a report both Cindy and myself regularly review closed reports. Not even an admin can delete a report once it's made.
Then you have the fact that all moderator actions are logged in some detail. Moderators are required to post in detail in the staff forums about their use of their abilities, and their official interactions with members.
As it says in the TOS all staff actions are reviewed. Even though I don't allow public discussion of issues with staff we regularly handle them. Sometimes it's a warning and counseling, other times it's a suspension, termination, even up to a perm ban. It all depends on the severity of the situation. I have fired Administrators before when they crossed the line.
The moment I saw that post I removed it. Then I contacted Cindy and instructed her to counsel that moderator and to inform them that nothing like that should ever happen again. Everyone had a bad day from time to time, but that is no excuse. If it ever happens again they will be fired.
The problem is not one person on this site can read every single message that is posted though we do try our best. There are a total of 1,356,734 posts and 131,961 topics. On average there are 284 new posts each and every day with 26 new topics. So you can see how challenging it is. You the members are our first line of defense and it goes back to members reporting posts, topics or private message that violate the rules, policies, and spirit of the site. If Chipper had done this no one would have had a problem with his actions. Chipper could have also chosen to contact me by forum pm or email at susan@susans.org and I would have happily handled this situation privately.
We had 5 reports on chippers tantrum on the site. We get between 5-10 reported posts per day each one of them are discussed and action is taken. In a clear case like spam the moderator acts outright. In borderline cases the discussion can be quite extensive until a consensus is reached.
Sorry but that's not true as moderators cannot manage users reputations. I double checked it today to make sure I was telling you right. That's an Admin action only. So if the reputation disappeared it means that one of the Admin reviewed the smite and deemed it invalid.
That was the case yesterday when I deleted 2 smites by Chipper, and one smite to him after the little reputation war that happened yesterday. I reviewed the smites and the reason given for them, then I looked at the posts and the thread to determine the entire context. If there is any doubt as to the validity I err on the side of removing it.
I got smited by a user recently, and I didn't remove it. I waited and let one of the other admin review the situation and come to a decision if they felt it was valid or not.
You are right your actions in the last few days has been horrible. First you get in a fight in a thread with another user who happened to be an moderator. That fact did not even figure into my review of the situation. I have let smites of staff remain in the past when they crossed the line.
You took offense to someone saying they saw your chest pictures and that they didn't really like how the nipple grafts were done. Are you happy with your results? If so why does the fact they were unhappy with your results from your surgeon matter. You were overly sensitive.
Then you got into the reputation war smiting two of the users posts one before and one after they apologized. They then smited you. I removed all three. You were both in the wrong.
When you do that you are a great member. But you stopped doing it yesterday which I will assume was just a bad day, or your Testosterone spiked.
You said you like giving information but how does that mesh with your deleting your posts. You said you had 420 posts, currently you have 26. So you must have deleted a bunch. Was the information you posted helpful to others? If so why would you delete it even if you were planning on deleting your account. How selfish.
There's no popularity contest here. I think if you review what I have written you will agree that the actions taken in this entire situation on our side were eminently reasonable.
I am sorry you feel this way, have a nice life! I hope you find some place that you like better. If you change your mind you can apologize and we will reconsider the ban.

during this time, i also became exposed to the hypocrisy that epitomizes susans.

i've watched moderators bash users and tell them that "nobody likes them...here, on susans, people can blatantly disrespect in the name of making themselves feel better without ramifications.

i've even seen moderators delete smites against themselves.
yesterday, i smited a user for something that i believed violated the TOS, today those smites are gone.
i've seen it done one too many times.

Things happen, so of course it is accepted! :) Now, get back on the pony and put this behind you.
What were we talking about, I forget. See, everything is OK! ;)

I'm sad he's gone, because he was a great source for a not very well known surgeon. But he shouldn't have flipped out like that. I understand having taken offense at the comment that was made, but this was a big over reaction. :(

Maybe he'll be back. I hope so. I hate to see anyone leave. He was definitely all worked up this morning, so maybe he'll see things differently after he's had some time to cool down and think.

That mostly made sense except for the "Testosterone" comment.
Pretty sure that crosses a line. I mean you wouldn't tell a woman "I assume you're having that time of month" would you?

It means what it said. Higher levels of male hormones are known to lead to more aggressive behavior. HRT is not a exact science and the levels of hormones can take an unexpected spike leading to behavior that otherwise would not have occurred. I presented two options, they can pick which one they feel applies.
I would have absolutely no problem telling a woman who was acting in the same manner that they were being hormonal as well if that was indeed the case.
And it doesn't cross a line, doesn't even come close. I know as I wrote the rules.

Everyone please remember, there is a lot said and PMed behind the scenes to staff or comments deleted from postings. The action taken was correct according to TOS. :)
