Title: A change in people's preception of YOU
Post by: immortal gypsy on October 24, 2014, 04:10:46 AM
Here's a ridiculous riddle for you:
(and no it's not "How many o's are there in Woolloomooloo?" :P

It use to be only panhandelers would ask me for change constantly, and I would get the occasional charity worker booth person want to stop me and talk to me. The period of at least two christmases I was on cruches I became completly invisable, I had an ex who loved it (as well as the disabled parking permit I qualified for due to the time I was on them for. But thats another tale by and by).

Now with the right hormones (mmm sweet sweet hormones ) its suddnly reversed. It's like
"Oh this person looks friendly enough lets ask them"
"Hey do you want to try this. Have you thought of doing this. Here have a look at this"

So girls am I the only one this is happening to, or is it happenning to others to you also? Guys have you started to experience this in reverse?
Or have I been walking on so much sunshine that everyone around me is fealing the effects? :) :D ;D

hard to say. Panhandlers definitely approached me more as a female. However, barring those kind of things, people tend to find me less threatening now. I went from an angry looking girl to a happy, chubby, teddy bear looking guy.

Not in my case, but then, people always found me approachable. I was that person in NYC, the one all 5 million tourists asked for directions.

I do notice this, but it's more on the train. In the past I use to get the old guy with his newspaper or some other guy sitting next to me, just not a girl. But now, without fail a fellow girl sits next to me. I also get it at work, women seem to gravitate towards me, but only in a friendly way girls  ;) but definetly since hormones I'm being treated differently. Today on the train I think I had my first slightly aggressive woman just stare at me with an angry look on her face, as if she was saying "what do you think your doing". Lol, it was just slightly amusing.

Yup... I've definitely noticed this. People seem to have no qualms about interrupting me and intruding on my personal space to say something to me. With my old more masculine body, people kept their distance, and usually when I said no, it was enough to make them stop, where now people are a lot more persistent, they'll be like "are you sure? Come on, just a little bit?" when they're begging.

like Birkin, I'm not sure if it's gender or just the fact that I'm happier and more approachable now, where before I was a lot more defensive and closed-off.

I have noticed this too. It is their third try that leaves me with no issues with putting them in their place by saying "I said no, thankyou" very firmly.  Like when they become naggy.

I definitely got approached and spoken to more when I was still presenting as female. I'll admit though, I'm definitely not the friendliest looking guy when I'm in public, so that may have something to do with it.

Don't really notice it. I have such aura that radiates harmony and peace, always had it. I seem to disarm people when they meet me. At least, that is what others say about me. I never had any enemies, I can talk with anyone and have a good conversation too about any subject. Never any conflict. People seem to be comfortable around me, even when I had the male body. Since transition, I do notice more attention from guys, and a lot of stares from girls. Being tall is to stand out. But lots of woman would kill for our height and long legs. Eat that, clockers & haters.
