Title: Best ways to hide boobs
Post by: Brenda E on November 05, 2014, 04:45:34 PM
So I'm still not out at work.  What's the best way to hide my rapidly-growing boobs?

Binders?  Compression tops?  Bras?  Really no idea what's available or what works, but I can't be the first transgirl to run into this problem.

(And a sub-question: does binding growing tits stunt their development or harm them in any way?)

I have never hidden them, but a sports bra and baggy shirt usually does the trick for the ladies here.

I have heard that a binder isn't good for growing breast tissue.

Unless you work with a bunch of rude morons that like to state the blindingly obvious to everyone, then you may find in most polite company, no one will say a thing. I am not out to anyone at work and I've been on HRT for over one year. There have been other physical changes apart from chest growth.

I've been wearing a bra every day to work since January this year and honestly no-one has said a word to me about my chest. For the record I have 34C breasts.

I work in an air conditioned office so I wear regular office attire for a male. I do limit their impact by wearing a stretchy tee-shirt over my bra, over which I wear a baggy button down shirt as well. Others have said that wearing shirts with textures and designs can distract the eyes from strap lines, but I only have plain shirts. Chunky oversized jumpers or sweaters can help too if where you are the weather is getting colder.

So bagginess is generally enough to hide them?

If so, awesome.  I only need to be in the closet for about six months at work (new job - don't want to surprise anyone too early), but after that I really don't care.

Even with baggy shirts and a sports bra plus hunching over, it's hard to hide. Even in "boy mode", sometimes I would get eyes locked onto my chest every once in a while.  :icon_eek: Don't let that stop you though. It was easier years ago when I was lower doses of HRT, but now my hand is pretty much forced to go full time.

Binders aren't even kind to FTM boobs...I just figured this was acceptable because we don't want to keep them anyway  :P

If you're a B-cup or smaller, I agree that a sports bra and baggy shirt would probably hide them. This is the "binding" method that works for me (FTM) most days.

I wear loose dress shirts with a tie and an undershirt. I stopped wearing a sports bra at work ( just at the gym). I get some stairs like a meeting Tuesday where a guy talked to my boobs several times. I am on injections and 7 or so days of the cycle my nipples are erect a lot and I can see them through my work shirt. At some point I will wear a bra but right now I do not need to. I am nowhere capturing a pencil under my boobs yet. I love my growth and this is my way to gently informing others over time.

Woman notice too and I get a lot of friendly conversation and smiles and facial expressions expressing friendship or acceptance.

An interesting point.  I have always been worried about what the guys will think or say.  I wasn't considering the women, many of whom may be rather charmed by the fact that there's an extra one in the office trying to hide but failing.  I guess they'll notice long before the pervy guys do.

Binding will definitely damage breast tissue even when it's fully developed, and is NOT a good idea while developing.

However, I had good luck (up to a point) with wearing a compression sports bra - *not* one too tight or that was smaller than my size, just one listed as "high compression" or "maximum bounce control" - under a T-shirt, with a loose shirt over that. Basically, the goal was to hide that telltale silhouette by making it look like I was just chubby or in baggy clothes.

Sports bra, not too tight your not trying to bind and a size larger t shirt worked for me for a while. It was kinda funny after a while my mom thought I was on steroids....no mother I'm not on the juice

A compression undershirt from someplace like underarmor under a t shirt and a baggy, preferably patterned shirt works great. The more irregular the pattern, the better the camouflage.

They do look like impressive pecs when squished up, don't they?

Time to go shopping for compression shirts.

I find a stretchy T-Shirt helps keep the girls under control.

I wear a jacket everyday. And the required colored shirt under that and a stretchy under shirt. Yeah it's warm but I got used to it.

My only other tip is to roll your shoulders forward. It's what guys do and it minimizes boobs. When I leave work I roll my shoulders back and correct my posture.
