Title: Harold Reed
Post by: Wynternight on November 05, 2014, 10:55:46 PM
Is anyone familiar with Dr. Harold Reed in FL? I came across his name whilst doing a search on insurance and he seems to have some good results per the pics on his site but I don't recall anyone here ever mentioning him.

I've been away for a while, but he used to be considered a butcher....

The forum has quite a bit of information on him. Pro tip: click Forums to bring you to the main page and search for Harold Reed from there.

I have firsthand experience with Dr. Reed's SRS procedure and I have nothing favorable to say about him.  I happen to live in the area but had never heard of Dr. Reed until a few years ago when someone I "knew" from another website planned to travel to Miami to have SRS with him and I offered to come by and visit her during her recovery.  I was horrified to learn that Dr. Reed's patients are sent to a nearby hotel right after SRS to recover.  As it turned out, this gal  experienced uncontrollable bleeding in her hotel/recovery room and had to be admitted to the hospital to get it under control.  The good news is she lived through it, the bad news is her results weren't that great not to mention lots of additional unplanned medical expenses and additional expenses from her extended stay.

I suggest that you sacrifice whatever you must in other areas of your life but don't cut corners seeking out a bargain basement surgeon - you only get one opportunity to get it right the first time.

Thank you for the replies. I was able to do some more digging and found information on him from other sources and took him off my short list with all haste.

When he first started advertising for SRS in the 2000s, I was curious having someone in my home state. but when i found the info about doing it out of a clinic and recovery out of a hotel and even him using regular dildos instead of medical stents for recovery and aftercare, i was like NOPE NOPE NOPE.

It sounds like he's a cosmetic surgeon that expanded his business to cash in on the trans community of South Florida that wants more than just breast augmentation.

He may be OK for outpatient procedures like cosmetic srs (get the outside stuff but not the inside stuff) but that's not what many of us want.

i had a choice between him and dr chettawut just a few months ago. I talked to Reed over the phone and also paid 325$ to be in his records as a patient for srs. The reason I was about to choose him was because I spoke with my fiance thoroughly and I wanted to get my srs sooner and have to avoid getting my passport and a copy of my U.S Citizenship to get a passport which i thought will take longer and be all a hassle just to get to Thailand.

But THANK GOODNESS i was patient enough and waited. Even though I wasted $325 to be his patient, I had bad vibes about him and reconsidered Dr Chettawut. When I spoke with Reed over the phone, he didn't sound so professional and seemed distracted and kept telling me to hold on cause he had to answer another call. It's like he didn't care. So glad I didn't go with him.

I mean if he is your choice, by all means, go with him. But my experience on just talking to him, I felt outright "unsafe". But then again, that's my experience with Reed, some might have gone to him and have had a different better experience though. :)

Thank you all for the replies. Reed has been off my short list for days-after reading responses here and reviews on other sites.

Bowers is pretty much top of the list.
