Title: Ahoy hoy noob here
Post by: ASparrowWithAMachineGun on November 11, 2014, 07:07:08 PM
I'm pretty terrible at theses things so I apologize in advance.

Welp, my name is Danielle (I think) mostly closeted trans girl. I'm 25 years young.  I've been out to a few close friends (and possibly a few other people after a drunken outburst) for a 6/7ish mouths now. They're pretty cool with it, but it's kinda awkward when the topic comes up, mostly because of me and my complete inability to discuss it or my emotions. So I joined up here, I figured discussing it with strangers who I assume are at least a little knowable on the subject might be helpful. So hi.

Hey, Danielle (that's a pretty name, by the way :)). Welcome to Susan's! I'm Stephanie. 25 was about the age I started finally exploring my gender identity, after repressing it for so long. I'm sure you'll find people here who you'll feel comfortable opening up to. :)

Welcome Danielle. Love the name. This is the place to go to for talking about anything trans related so you've come to the right place. See you on the Boards.

Hi Danielle, ahh the good old drunken outburst, (In vino veritas  :icon_drunk: hope it you didn't accidentally tell anyone you may of regretted), welcome to the family.

I understand the feeling, it can be a lot easier to open up on a forum and remain somewhat anonymous, then to friends and family no matter how accepting they are.

Hope to see you around the forums soon :icon_wave:

Welcome Danielle,

can I share some of your wine?   ;D

Since you already have your drink, may I invite you to simply pull up a chair and get comfy?  ;)

Thanks everyone.  I thought of a lot of names of the years, from Abigail, Chelsea, Kimberly (mostly because of the pink power ranger.) to name a few. I think I finally settled on Danielle, not sure why, but I really like the name. I think it fits.

My drunken outburst was the first time I told anyone. A kind of funny story.  My neighbor Tim had a party and I drank quite a bit. The next morning I woke up with a slight hangover wearing a pair jeans and one sock and a shoe. Pretty much no memory of the night before. The last thing I remember was talking with Tim about drugs we experimented with. I'll skip on the details. About a week later I was eating dinner with my dad and he asked what I was talking to Tim about. I froze, desperately trying to think of an excuse. "I was trying to impress him, just sound cool." or "That was a long time ago, I just drink now." Still frozen, he asked me "something about you should've be born a girl or something?" "How would you like a fully detailed list of the drugs I've taken?" I thought. I considered telling, but I chickened out and told I was just ridiculously drug. :/

Danielle is a great name :) It took me a little while to come up with Josh too, but it fits me :) Have you thought of a middle name? I never have it thought until yesterday. I'm stuck on that one haha

I told a few o my close friends a little less than a year ago now. I managed to suppress my feelings for a while after that though. However now they're back full force and don't seem to be going anywhere. I want to talk to my parents about it but I know if I do I'll choke and I'll never get the words out. I'm thinking maybe writing a letter. When I told them I was a lesbian I sat on the couch and sobbed while they went through every possible thing that could be wrong until they got to that lol We will get there with coming out to our parents :)

Thanks. I'm thinking Kimberly. Lol.  Ill problem end up writing a letter to my dad. He's not stupid, he probably at least has some suspicions. Besides telling my neighbor, I've gotten pretty lazy hiding clothes and whatnot since coming out to my friends.
