Not in my area. I'm in the Georgia/South Carolina area and prices range from $40-$100 an hour. There isn't a hair count in the price. However the $100 an hour offering did the quote number of hairs that she will hit per minute. But she really really good.
At the price you have listed there that's $240 an hour. I hope that she is worth it.

$30 for 10 minutes is crazy expensive. For a one time quick touch up session, given the time spent setting up and whatnot, it might be reasonable, but not for an extended session. Prices around my part of the country are around $60 per hour - a third of what you're thinking of paying.

Wow it really just sounds like she will be ripping me off.... when you had such a great price. Thanks for the reply.

May I inquire into how many sessions you girls had for your thicker regions? Also is Laser worth it if you only have a upper lip?

If you are in the States, you could consider going to Michael Bono or James Walker. They seems to have a good reputation and verse in trans hair removal. Might be more worth it if you save up more then try to do a complete clearing in 1-2 session spread over 2 days or even in a single day if you can withstand the pain.
If you want to be cost efficient, aim for complete clearing at every 8-12 wks interval, this would ensure that the hairs that are being removed are in the growing stage.

I'm paying $55/hr in far North Dallas for a very good, trans-friendly electrologist. His normal rate is $70/hr but he gives a discount to us girls. He actually recommended I get a couple of rounds of laser before I came to him so I could save money.
$240/hr gets you into (or past) E3000 rates and you get drugs from them.
Good luck--there do seem to be some good people out there, it just took me a while to find one.

Over 2$/minutes it's overpriced worldwidely. You can probably aim for a 1$/minutes (even less sometime). In Canada the average is 50$/hour or 1$/minute. In the US the prices are usualy lower, using google I found some as low as 40$/hour in few states (looking for ones with recommendations).
Remember that it takes a LOT of hour of electrolysis to get rid of hairs so the prices diferences at the end may represent several thousands $.

Seems a little much to me and im from Alaska. One thing to mention is that I had a tech doing my face for 50 an hour for a year and it never got better. I pay 65 for a 45 min session and i have very noticable results. Always get references from other trans ppl before you spend your money. I did 5 hours once a month for a year for nothing...cold chills.

Not only is the price high, but 20 hairs every 10 minutes is a ridiculously low number.

Oh, I'm sorry. I thought you meant 20 hairs zapped was the guaranteed hairs per 10 min.

Ha, I thought the same thing, Skin.
In Missouri, I found a trans friendly electrologist whose rates are essentially a buck a minute. 15 mins for $15, 30 mins for $30, all the way up to 90 mins for $90. She does not mess around, either. She starts the timer and starts zappin'. ouchies!

shall we form some kind of transgender cooperative where we can employ our sisters as staff and we'll all benefit from it?
Sure but only you Asian, European and American girls will benefit haha. I will just have something else to be envious about :P.

The price you were quoted appears extreme. I go to E3000 in Dallas, a salon dedicated to full facial hair removal for transgender people (and others who wish it) and I pay $105 per hour for professionals who are fast and who are licensed to inject lidocaine pain killers directly into the face. That $105 per hour includes cost of injected lidocaine and my last session, which removed every hair on my face for that specific wave of growth, was done in 5 hours. That's several thousand hairs. At 20 hairs per 10 minutes, that wouldn't have even cleared my neck after 5 hours.
I'd find another electrologist if I were you.

In that case, that is super low. At my last session which lasted 34 minutes, she got something like 360 hairs.

What should be a good speed of removal? Meaning how many hairs per minute should we be hoping for?

I have been to two different people. The one I am currently seeing does about 11/min. The first one I went to didn't have a counter on the machine, but it felt like a similar pace to me.

My total, which included over an hour of time, some after care cream, a one time setup fee and tax was $111.
