Title: Travel Photos

I once created a similar thread here, but it was dead a long time ago. Please show your photos while travelling various place around the world.

I just returned my a week trip to Nagasaki, Japan.

Yes! As you know, I travel a lot.

It was really windy when I was in Big Island. It was like hurricane, and I saw some big trees were rooted out. Difficult to wear miniskirt, and I managed to do it!

A performance is going on. The two guys are making traditional Japanese rice cake by using the big wooden pounder.

I am now travelling Seoul, the capital of my country.

In subway train. Overweight among young people is one of the most serious health problems in S. Korea. Some reports say that Korean kids are more obese than American kids.

Boeing 747-400 is spacious. I sat in the rear side of the plane.

Arriving home, and it is warmer here (19 oC or 66 oF).

I guess you could also call it "pound cake" ;) (That's a name for a type of cake in the US. I'm not sure if it's used in Asia).

If that 747 seat is spacious I'd hate to see a cramped one. At least you have room for your legs to the side.

In my country, the following type of cake pounder had been popular, but nowadays you can see it in museums or in rural areas.

The only dough we pound in the US is probably pizza dough. Most people order theirs takeout, but I have a home bread machine and make my own whole wheat dough very easily. Come to think of it, I might do some for lunch today.

Oh. Thanks for positive comments.

Today it is spring, and I went out to see the spring coming with my little daughter and her friend.
The yellow followers are called 'rape flower' in English (not so good name, but the etymology is different).

Raper flower is very famous here, and it blooms even in winter.

Oh. Thanks for the link, Lyric. The site asks me my Facebook account, and I will later try again.

Today my little daughter wanted to hike a mountain here. I thought it is a nice idea as it is spring. We drove to the entrance of the mountain located at 1,280 meter (4,200 feet) altitude. It was a sunny day, but the mountain was far different. Rain started.

We saw several plains of snow, which was not yet melted away.

(https://farm9.staticflickr.com/8728/16927217316_67a91865e0_b.jpg) (https://farm8.staticflickr.com/7628/16333065043_6e00bb7532_b.jpg)

In the top of the mountain (1,700 meter, or 5,577 feet), we could take some hot ramen. My feet were completely wet.

When returning my home and campus, we realized that clouds are only in the top of the mountain. Below the mountain, it was still sunny.

I nearly caught a cold, but it was funny to hike in a winter mountain with my little daughter in spring.

The walk looks fun, if a bit scary. I love the dense mist in the first picture. If you aren't familiar with it, I think you might like Pinterest. In the states, at least, it's one of the top social media sites these days and has a strong feminine appeal. Users create "boards"-- pages with lots of thumbnail images. Images can easily be posted from most any web page or uploaded yourself. I could easily spend hours a day there if I'm not careful. I follow boards about fashion, hairstyling, movie sets, science fiction and have started a few myself.

I am visiting Kyoto, Japan, with my son and daughter.
Kyoto is the most beautiful and well-designed city among all cities I have traveled so far.
This is an ideal place as human habitat.

Tomorrow I am leaving for my hometown.
It takes just about one hour from my hometown to Osaka, but sometimes takes 3 hours in immigration checkpoint. When arriving at Kansai airport on Tuesday, a lot of passengers from flights that were delayed by the typhoon poured out to the immigration desks, jamming the entire airport.

Thanks! I like to expose and express myself.

A smartphone application called self-timer camera lets me be able to take 10 photos by 1 second interval. I choose the best one from them. I have several 2-tera byte external USB hard disks, and no problem in keeping all of them. Also, a few of my friends are professional photographer, sometimes taking photos for me.

Yes. People seem to like that skirt, as it is longer. The flat sandals were broken yesterday, and I already ordered another pair. I looked for the same design, but no longer available.

I am now in Qingdao, China. Air pollution here prevents me from going out for sightseeing. Just staying in the hotel, and walking out just for lunch and dinner.

It is difficult to access to Google or Youtube here. And the internet connection is very slow to most of the US sites. But the internet speed here to portal sites of my country are unbelievably fast. Surprising...

Hopefully I can dare to go out for sightseeing, but the air pollution does not seem to be alleviated soon.

Just returned from a 10-day trip to Washington DC area of the US.

I visited my old work place located in southern Maryland.

(https://c2.staticflickr.com/8/7362/27865027522_c63ca843f7_b.jpg)  (https://c2.staticflickr.com/8/7313/27687187230_b8ebcd0e6f_b.jpg) (https://c2.staticflickr.com/8/7261/27932761436_b19c51d42a_b.jpg)

I also had sometime to visit northern Virginia and the National mall of the DC.

(https://c2.staticflickr.com/8/7463/27966583115_4a205d9223_b.jpg)  (https://c2.staticflickr.com/8/7601/27687154270_290ef67db6_b.jpg)

I had some time to run along the Lake Accotink Trail in northern Virginia.

While returning home, the security was really tight in Dulles airport. The security girl touched the areas all around my breast area, not to mention asking me to take off shoes. Fortunately, she called me as ma'am, despite the apparent M mark in my passport. Another security guy seemed to be overwhelmed with my unusual height with 4 inch wedge heels, but he was anyway kind.

The best thing in the States was that all men who stared at me smiled happily. I do not know  the reason, but I could read some satisfaction in their smiles.

I'm not quite sure, but the etiquette there seemed to be that men should be kind to ladies. Here in my country, S. Korea, men just stare at ladies, causing complaints, but ladies seem just to accept it. But recently a young lady kicked off an old man who stared at her. She was arrested for violence by the police.

Oh. You live in Fairfax. My son started to stay there. He rented the basement of a very old house, paying US$ 1,000 every month, which I think is too expensive. But it is a very nice place, as it is crowded, but still has a lot of forest, including the lakes and creeks. Close to the DC and Dulles international airport. Unlike rural areas, I saw a lot of people there exercise outdoors.

Unfortunately this area is super expensive for renting a place. So the number does not surprise. There are a lot of new apartments being built, maybe he can find something cheaper in the future.
