Title: Girl mode...!

I am so excited this afternoon I am going to my weekly therapist session in full girl mode for the first time...! I'm especially looking forward to this week because the patient that comes in after me is a very beautiful woman who I have hit it off with. She does know that I'm transgendered and that I'm transitioning and she's been very supportive and kind to me. I think I'll see if she doesn't mind if I wait around until she has done with her session and see if she'd like to go get some coffee or tea. Anyway wish me luck, I'm off.
Hugs,
Melissa Ann

Yay! So excited for you. You will feel great! My very first session was Guy mode, since then I went in Girl mode and I feel much better. I was way more calm in Girl mode. I have my 4th session on Wed and my Wife will be attending this time. I hope it goes well with her there too.
Have a great time. Tell us how it went when you get back. ;D
*hugs*

Hi MelissaAnn that's great, I remember the first time I went to therapy in girl mode, it was a breakthrough experience that's for sure.
The only thing I'd caution about is how you approach the woman for a cup of coffee afterwards, some people may be very fragile after seeing their therapist and need time to sort themselves out. Please don't get disheartened if she says no or isn't in the mood for talking afterwards.

Go girl!
I don't know exactly what is "full girl mode" but except for the first session and the session with my wife I pretty much went dressed up en femme, but with girl jeans and a femme top.
Are you going in a dress or skirt? That would be awesome! I haven't done that yet because I'm not fully out at work and I usually go on a workday and I have to be at the office afterwards. With jeans at least it doesn't stand out as much (or does it?)

Well, here's my update I went out learn along dress black with white polkadots nice necklace my nails all done not makeup. My hair done and heels short heels, but heels as far as the patient that follows me her name is Laura and we went out and had a cup of tea and had a nice chat. Mind you I am not looking for anything right now just went out is two girls chatting and having a cup of tea. It's been a wonderful day and the feeling of freedom is almost overwhelming (here goes the waterworks). It's just so nice to finally be accepted for who I am and be called by my chosen name. I guess I can scratch this one off my bucket list now.

That is so very lovely. Congratulations and blessings. Makes me want to bop on over to Chicago just to give you a hug. Living and being affirmed as a woman is both magical, and necessary. If I didn't have girlfriends to share a meal or a moment with, I'm not sure I could acknowledge that my life and my spirit were destined to live as a girl. That I do gives me the confidence to be real, to be authentic and to be happy.
Good on You :)

I am so happy for you; the right look can make a big difference for self-perception.
Now if only I could lose the gender-neutral look for my own bi-weekly therapy session; I see her again this Friday. Maybe next time. *cries*
At least I do not come in like a man anymore. I used to talk really slow and even received a diagnosis of depression because of it. Since starting HRT, the therapist has to interrupt me when she wants to say something. How nice it feels to finally be able to express oneself.

I agree, I would talk in very short and choppy sentences and now I fell freer to express myself. I've been told by my therapist that I use my time very well as a matter in fact I tend to run over my time because I talk so much now...!

Melissa- I am so happy and proud for you!! A big hurdle. I recently did the same thing. It seemed like a real validation of what I was all about. One thing about that experience for me, I did have to use the restroom during the session. My therapist, a wise old crone, said as I left the room, "Make sure you use the WOMAN'S restroom, Girl!". lol It was all good. Blessings, Sheila Grace

Melissa,
That's wonderful news. Congratulations and I'm so glad it went well. I've been pondering and wondering when I'll get the nerve up to visit my therapist in girl mode. For me it's a terrifying thought because I haven't mastered the art of makeup much less have enough clothing to make it look somewhat put together. This definitely does make me want to plan for an appearance. Again, congratulations.

I go in for my next session in under 3 hrs. Going in Guy mode thou because my Wife is attending and she prefers I go as her Husband. I will not say no to that as long as she goes.
Going to feel a little weird to me but as long as it makes my Wife feel more comfortable I will oblige.

I did that too because I wanted to discuss our issues and not how I'm dressed. It's perfectly normal.

Those initial successes in our identified gender can bring quite a rush, can't they? But eventually they settle down and become "normal" and I've appreciated that normalcy. Yet even so, I often marvel after returning home from an outing at how well I am living as myself finally. :)
