Title: Surprised
Post by: bv5913 on November 18, 2014, 03:50:43 PM
Went on a union course today. Wearing nothing speacial, Just a long skirt, nice top, nothing that stands out, and a little make up.
The people on the course i have never met before, and i was a little nervous, why ? i do not know as i have come out at home and work.
A few people looked, but did not say a thing, and i did not felt like they was talking about me behind my back. If anything it felt like they thought " No big deal"
Was quite releived, and i will sleep well tonight for the final day tomorrow, knowing that no one cared. Felt accepted and so relaxed.
I think i really need to stop worrying about what others think and just be me.
How many others i wonder went though the self concious stage before finally not thinking about it.

^THIS^

The day I stopped caring about what others thought of me was the best day ever.  I became at ease in public and everything turned around for me right away.  People pick up on your demeanor, and if you seem uneasy or nervous, they scrutinze you a bit more deeply and some of them will end up clocking you as trans*.  When I just did my thing without thinking "OMG, I'm noticeably trans and in public.", nobody seemed to notice or care, I became even more at ease and the quality of my life improved dramatically then and there.

Yes Im getting more and more used to it but as I get bolder and bolder I gotta admit Im surprised myself... I mean I am very due for laser appointment number five.... Actually had to move it out two extra weeks to 2 1/2 months because I just had voice feminization surgery six days ago... So Ive got some beard going on, not much but I thought plenty enough to maybe get at least a funny look... I have an electro appointment set up Thursday for the white ones that are there too... Ive just been letting them grow because my electro lady seems to really do a faster better job when she can see em better....

SO anyway just wearing a pair of leggings and warm boots, long sleeve T and my coat with scraggly hair and of course even a bit of a beard, zero attempt at all to be anything near pretty... Hardly any voice, terribly hoarse... I just didnt care at all and I had to go to Fed Ex and the post office to ship some stuff that had to go today... Just had to get it done...

Both were very busy and not even a funny look from anyone and just very pleasant everyday treatment Im used to (as a woman) ;D  At one point I could barely talk at all and the guy was like oh you dont sound too good Mam are you sick??? Yea thats it, thanks!!!!

You get more attention if you drawl attention.

So just normal will bring normal.

People are way to busy to care unless something is drawing there attention.

Hugs, glad it went well.
