So yeah... I am about 4 1/2 months on HRT. I have already noticed some breast growth and am really happy to see the changes. Anyways, when I squeeze my breasts towards my nipples clear liquid comes out. The liquid is not cloudy at all, and has a slightly salty taste. Literally this stuff comes out as a few small droplets from a few different places on my nipple. It is actually enough that it will form one droplet and drip off of my nipple and run down my chest. I have become kinda obsessed with it and squeeze them whenever I'm in the bathroom so I can race the droplets against each other. Anyways, is this normal? (the nipple liquid part, not the droplet racing ;))

No, it is not normal to taste strange liquids that come out of your body.  Amusing, but not normal.

JustaSeq-I am also new to this site. I have been in the medical field for years, and this is not a professional opinion, but from experience, I have seen this occur with alteration with estrogen levels. Estrogen is responsible for modifying mammary ducts and so, especially with your history, it may not be a big issue. However, the color of the discharge is not of primary importance as "good and bad" things can give clear, red, yellow, or brownish discharge. However, if it hurts or if it is from one nipple and comes out without you squeezing, then going to your doctor and getting a sonogram would be a good step. If it is from both breasts and you have to squeeze it to cause the discharge makes it more likely to be from the hormonal changes. In my experience, verapamil (a blood pressure and heart medicine) or tricyclic anti-depressants can cause this as well. Remember, thyroid and pituitary hormones can cause symptoms with the breasts and discharge. If it persists, I would seek professional help; however, your recent history can easily explain it as well. It's normal. I personally try not to squeeze too much because I wanna keep whatever fluids my body makes in my breast inside of me. I've also read continuous squeezing especially habitually would lead to inducing lactation once far enough along HRT. Pretty sure it's just your milk glands developing further. Harmless and normal. It might also have to do with up and down E levels but to be honest I'm not too familiar with the lactation process but I wouldn't squeeze too much or too often unless you want unexpected wet spots appearing on your shirt

Normal, I've been known to stain the sheets from lying close to on my stomach.

This can occur when prolactin is very high, from taking cyproterone acetate and/or non-bioidentical estrogen such as conjugated estrogens (Premarin) or ethinyl estradiol (in birth control pills). I would personally be concerned about this. Best to check with doctor, your prolactin levels as well as any other thing your doctor deems useful to look at.

Really though, ask your doctor. As for the racing and the tasting. I just gotta' laugh a little. :laugh: I am gonna' shut up now though. :)

I'm sure you could be doing better things than racing droplets down your chest. I'm absolutely sure of it!  :laugh:

I'm ftm, but I definitely experienced something similar the first time I started hormonal birth control. Very weird, kinda fun.

No idea what it actually is, though. Mine went away after a few months and I stopped thinking about it.

Birth control pills contain ethinyl estradiol which is known to strongly stimulate prolactin and those containing cyproterone acetate, even more so.

So after meeting with my doctor today, I was informed of the following.

The liquid from breasts thing is mainly a trans woman thing. Cis women grow breasts over 5-8 years.  My doctor plans on growing mine in 18 months. This fluid is due to the rapid growth in my case and the doctor says that I should not worry about it. :)

I can confirm this. I was surprised by the same symptom this month, and my doctor told me about the same thing you heard. It just happens with some trans women.

This reminds me of when I was using domperidone, some cis women use em to increase breast milk supply, I only used em to see if I could lactate n yep they work alright, but you can ask your doctor for something to stop lactating if it becomes a problem, like when I was using domperidone it really messed with my libido, and my breast development slowed down, so I totally chucked em, I might mess around with em again when I'm fully developed tho.

Oh, it's not lactation. Just fluid :)
