I learned by myself using youtube and other internet resources.
I just bought a bunch of cheap junk and tested it out.

So that's one way. Obv since that's how I learned I have not got a direct answer to your question. Unless I say, in front of your mirror!

If you have a female friend, they can do wonder for you. If not, some department stores offer makeovers and will show you how to best apply their products in an effort to have you buy them.

I have heard good things about MAC stores and Sephora.

Also some LGBT centers have classes specifically for trans women.

I had a make over at a Napolean Perdis store, it was great and very helpful.

MAC, Ulta and Sephora are all very helpful and their trans-friendly. I'm not sure where you live but also companies like Avon will actually come to your house and show your their products and teach you how to use it. Good luck.

Much love,

I learned through watching manyyyyyyy youtube videos. I still do watch them honestly. Plus, I was infatuated with drag makeup which really helps you learn the female highlight / contour areas. & I wore eyeshadow nearly everyday. I guess I'm kind of self taught with lots of tips & tricks learned randomly from friends & videos on youtube. It's all just practice makes better honestly.

My mum showed me the very basics, my friends showed me some of their tricks, in the last few years I've over taken them in learning new tricks.

A great makeup tip Vlog is https://www.youtube.com/user/jhmemoires

Go and see a make up artist, they are very LGBT friendly and are always willing to help, even ask for a one on one after hours if you want.

The hardest 2 things with make up is knowing your skin tones and face shape
