I made a long list somewhere else, but along the lines of what I'd achieved after one year of HRT. Here are the highlights from this year.

2014

Finally admitted to my SO that I am a woman
Lost a considerable amount of weight
For right or wrong reasons attended a TG support group
Met some delightful MtF ladies. We all chatted for hours about our experiences
Tried make up on for the first time
Lasered my face to rid it of hairs
Purposefully plucked my eyebrows into a feminine shape
Became more self-accepting of my developing female face
Finally shaved off the pit hair after years of procrastination
Started using a handbag whilst out and about
Wore only womens clothes out of the house
Had men display random acts of chivalry towards me
Went womens clothes shopping with my SO and having a great time doing so

2015

Start the process of my formal name change and updating various pieces of documentation
    Go full time
    Come out to my employer
Come out to parents, siblings and selected extended family members
Continue to work on my voice
Continue to work on my make up skills
    Continue to expand my wardrobe
Make new friends that accept me for who I am and not what they expect me to be

2014

I came to grips with my gender identity/ realized a transition was a need not a want.
moved out on my own so I could start my transition
Started therapy
Going to start seeing endo in December!!!

2015
start laser hair removal
come out to family
come out at work
go full time.
*start a cooperative house for trans people
*get a spiral perm
*get more tattoos and piercings

The stars are lower priority, besides for the cooperative house that is very important, but I would be surprised if I could start that up in a year.

so far this year has been the most important year in my life but next year seems like it is even more important.

2014
1) Survived
2) Started to really learn what it is like to be a for real person
3) Started to allow myself to be really in touch with the real me
4) Came to realize and actually admit that I NEED to at the very least do a transition to part-time as soon as life allows it.
     a) Started the process of loosing the shame I harbored over being trans
5) After 6 years of taking on the trans beast actually asked for an HRT letter
     a) Started the process of making this whole "I am trans" so very very real to me
     b) Learned that fretting over how long that letter was taking to process said a lot to me
6) Came out to my new doctor
7) Learned that growing as a person also means you need to believe the old rules or ways of doing things also grow and change with you.
     a) Asked for and surprisingly received permission from my wife to essentially direct her health care

2015
1) Survive
2) Finally finish up and rent Housezilla. (Which also served as a convenient excuse for putting off major life decisions)
3) See the end of my wife's constant chronic pain followed by the restoration of her emotional health as the drug fueled anxiety and depression cycles wane and she gets some semblance of a life worth living back.
4) The long shot, get to move away from this toxic "Village" we live in to some place a few minutes away from my job where I gain over 2 hours of my life back AND get to go back to feeling completely genuine as a person, at least on a part-time basis

That's the short version of my life on hold as other pressures take top priority. Truth be told, unlearning 50 years of bad habits and applying new ways to think and feel about yourself is almost a full time job, on top of a full time job, on top of being the homemaker, on top of being the primary care giver to a broken spouse. All those other pressures are great excuses to slip back into the old familiar ways of running (or ruining?) your life. Thankfully, these days I don't have to be anywhere near as diligent about slipping back into the old ways as I was a year or so ago.

2014 :

Published a book and several short stories and political columns
Refinanced our mortgage
Got a promotion
First car accident (OK, that was not a *good* accomplishment!)
Remodeled our kitchen

2015 :
Hopefully, I'll finally manage to find a new, better job
Keep my writing career going; publisher might be going under, so I need to shop around

... my life is boring. :)

2014:
1: Legally changed my name and gender marker!
2: Got my hormone levels into the typical female range for a woman my age.
3: Came out at work.
4: Began living my life authentically.
5: Was accepted, treated and seen as any other woman by the majority of people at work.
6: Fought tooth & nail to be allowed to use the women's bathroom at work.
7: Came out to all of my family and friends on Facebook to a rather great surprise reaction of acceptance from my relatives and friends.
8: Gained so many new friends who only know me as me :)
9: Began doing transgender activism in my state
10: Got a big raise at work! This surprised the heck out of me as I figured I'd be stagnant in pay forever now that I came out at work.
11: Lasered off all of the dark hairs on my beard, now I do electrolysis to kill off all the darn blonde & light brown hairs that laser didn't kill.
12: Turned my relationship completely upside down with my immediate family, sadly for the worse but oh well I'm happy being and living as me for once. It's a shame they can't share in that same happiness as me.

2015:
1: Reach my 1 year full time mark
2: Make a difference for transgender people in my state by being the best role model I can be and to do my best to enact positive legislation for our community.
3: With some luck I might be able to get part or all of my GCS surgery paid for by my insurance as I found documentation from them stating that GCS is medically necessary as long as I meet certain conditions. I have minus two, 1 year full time & 2 physiologists giving me the thumbs up for surgery.
4: Get GRS done in 2015!
5: Continue living my life happily.
6: Maybe have some very minor FFS done to correct two vain things I don't like about my face.
7: Maybe patch things up with my family if at all possible but I doubt as they have said as soon as I get GCS done they'll never speak to me ever again.

2014:
~discovered why i have been so depressed for a majority of my life.
~am making progress despite setbacks
~started therapy
~started working on my financial plan and general outline for my transition
~came out to closest online friends
~came out to most of my family and either have their support, or acceptance, or both. (mom, stepdad, sister, and uncle.)   (yet to tell grandparents ~omg s*** storm incoming~)
~read every post, on 4 different trans* related support/duscussion sites
~figured out who my real friends are... and arent (the person i was planning on coming out to first at work, discovered is extremely trans/homo phobic, and extreme gossiper.  turned on me and is stirring up things at work... so glad i am not telling her)
~figured out who i actually will come out to first at work.
~using one-touch electrolysis on body hairs in various regions.   becoming quite proficient with it.  almost 250 hours over the last 2 months.  (cleared an area ~ 4-5 square inches and growing, and can maintain it clear in about 6-7 hours a week now, alot of hairs that still come in are blonde)  will be up to ~400 hours by end of year.

2014 setbacks
~prior to my realization and coming out to, and accepting myself.   had my car accident that put me 6$k usd into debt, not counting vehicle expences and general bills and involved knee surgery.

2015:
~get grandpa paid off and remove the last of my debt by march.
~come out to best friend/roommate before he leaves for bootcamp in march.
~start hrt by june.
~start professional electrolysis on beard when i start hrt.
~come out at work.
~when i can semi-reliably pass, get a transfer from work, and move.  towards end of year, or at the beginning of next year.
~make some good, reliable friends.
~get name change.

ongoing
~maintaining, and reviewing my financial and general plan.
~one-touch electrolysis.  increase cleared area.

ummm.

I find it curious that getting our ears pierced is showing up in a lot of people's lists. I suppose I should have added it to mine too, it was something I did on January 2. It's a little but big thing isn't it? A lot of cis men have pierced ears and yet when I was presenting as male I kept well away from doing that. Not sure why? Was I afraid it would reveal my inner trans woman to the world? I think I might have been. ???

- Be steady with hair removal. Two months of electro, one of laser.
- Have by December the savings for SRS
- Make working in my voice routine and habit
- Dress more femenine
- Complete my name and gender legal change as soon as I meet the requirements (2 years HRT or SRS) and drop my current gender neutral name
- Have my BA
-Get back in shape. What I spend monthly in pizza and beer is enough to cover the monthly gym fee.

I had both ears done in college. (3 in left)  Maybe I was trying to tell myself something?   I'm 100% sure now that it was a manifestation of GD.

I really wanted to have earrings in uni but my father would have been dead set against it. This was 1986 and guys with pierced ears were either gay or weirdos. Since I lived at home I didn't have much option. So I crafted a nifty clip on sleeper out of a paper clip! Wore it at uni and removed it at home. Forgot to remove it one day and father goes "what's THAT in your ear?!" Sheesh. Anyway, got my ears pierced as soon as I moved out as an up you to the old man but I was already on HRT at that point and planning to transition anyway.

2014:

Filming for documentary, where I'm featured
Legal name change
Making my name more known, available to other youth, to help them to know they aren't alone
2 years HRT
First full calendar (January-December 2014) year of living only female (started June 2013)
Presenting at workshops, diversity weeks around the country, telling my story
Named prom queen; one of the first 15 nationwide to be transitioning and claim the crown; my date and I became the first in the world to be both transitioning, and get both prom king and queen
Collaborated with university officials to ensure SRS coverage in student health plan
Met lots of new friends, presenters, etc. like Jazz, Chris, and so many more!
Call from MTV earlier this month for potential interest in filming
Moved to the point where I am 100% seen as me in the real world, to where I hear discussions of deep female insider matters that while remind me of how well I'm seen as a natal female, it is a constant reminder of what my body cannot do

...with the lone exception of the first job I got this year, working with preschool kids. This one girl tells me Jessica is a boy's name, calls me a boy, because of my voice though she just turned four, does not know better. It's not clocking, because the other kids do not think so, and everyone finds her a bit silly in that sense. My coworkers certainly don't think so given our discussions, and my neighbor, who is my boss, asked on our first day, being the oldest of three girls "What happened to the boy in your family?" She's super sharp mentally, hasn't put it together.

Last semester of classes

2015

Continuing filming, media work of various types, etc. Documentary potentially released, though I hear early 2016.
SRS in May, with trip to San Francisco and San Mateo.
Possible book plans documenting my journey; just thought of this, so who knows
Potentially first job with degree, somewhere in finance. I'll be on the hunt!
Any other ideas? I work a lot with youth, trying to get my name out there to be the teen representative, kind of like what Jazz does, since that's my story. The idea here is to help others in time of need, which is an issue, that while improving, still has to cover 25 more miles left of the marathon. Some of what I know and plan, I can't say, but keep an eye out for me! ;)

These are my aspirations for next year

Pretty much the same as everyone else:

2014 (in no particular order)

- Came out to spouse, parents, kids, close family.
- Began therapy (best decision ever)
- Started hormones
- Ears pierced
- Growing hair
- Came out to supervisor
- Began beard removal

2015

- Come out fully at work
- Come out to remaining family
- Start being me full-time
- End beard removal.  Like, this is my #1 goal.

So far, it's been a bittersweet year.  2015 will be the same, I'm sure.

I thought about adding it... I thought about doing it after SRS. But haven't. Still not sure if I want it. I rarely wear jewelry, except for a necklace. I don't like attention to jewelry, it needs to complement, not stick out. I also have sensitive skin, I do not like rings, bracelets and it just feels uncomfortable. I did have 1 ear two times pierced when I was 18. But it closed up. I never wore any earrings since, due to an persistent infection i got. All in all, it doesn't bode well for ear rings... but who knows, I might change.

New HRT regiment started in January, stronger than the old, better results, made me and my endo happy.
Moved forward with legal stuff.
Came out at work to boss and HR in March.
Spent a full week on vacation with friends as me full time.
Came out to colleagues in early August.
Legally Cara and F by September.
Full time at work beginning early October.
Most IDs changed (a few still in progress).
Facial hair removal continues.

2015

Finish Facial hair removal.
Continue building my wardrobe.
Continue saving towards GCS (expected early 2016 at current rate of savings)
Expect to finalize divorce in late 2015 or early 2016 if spouse finishes her school work on time (she's refreshing job skills and I agreed to help).
LIVE! :)

Late 2013 came out to myself, began RLE immediately and never looked back....

2014
Really came to terms with it all and decided to go for full transition, continued working on RLE and continued living full time.... Lost A LOT of weight and started to take much better care of myself after nearly 30 years of HARD living....
1-14 started feminizing herbal regime, (wow it actually worked too)...
3-14 started laser on my beard....
4-14 decided to go on HRT for real, started electrolysis...
5-14 decided to be out with everyone, filed papers with the court for name change...
7-14 got a better doc (OB/GYN) started IM injections.... Got my name changed... Started to really "pass" as female..
8-14 Finished changing documents, began dating men...
9-14 Started seeing a psych with the intention of obtaining letters of recommendation for GCS,  QUIT cold turkey a 31 yr 2-3 pack a day smoking habit...
10-14 Started selling off some of the "guy stuff", lots left though...
11-14 I had voice feminization surgery in NY... Finally a real small B cup =)

Goals for 2015

Get back down to 150 lbs, gained 15 lbs after quitting smoking ;(

Continued recovery from my voice surgery and doing my own "therapy" to further improve it...

Finish facial hair removal, GETTING there I think =)

Sell damn near everything associated with my old life, EVERYTHING in preparation for living a much simpler very comfortable womans life...

Find more new friends, hopefully stay out of trouble!!!

FFS in march/april with Dr Zukowski...

Hair restoration...

Hopefully continued feminization, a full B, small C with a feminine shape is all I need...

GCS surgery in july/september if possible...

Thats a pretty full plate so far, this last year has brought changes I could never have imagined at this point in 2013 a year ago when I started on this road!!! Never been happier in all my 45 yrs though =)

Thank you. This is really a good way to see how we are all doing with out lives.

I've been busy & have not written down anything yet however I guess I will. For me I just push a little on everything as best I can. HRT, over a year. Facial hair removal is going well. Breasts are growing, my body is definetly more female. My face looks nice, a woman a few days ago in the grocery store line called my mam & I was not even wearing any makeup. Lots of friends that care for me & know I'm a woman. My electro lady says I'm for sure more of a woman that a lot of her clients, my breasts are larger than some & my facial hair is less than some of her cis women clients. I live 99% as Francis & only a few people that I know are not aware of me correcting my gender. I'm more & more every day just enjoying being a woman. I've had some men come around but I should wait until my GRS so I can just enjoy a normal male/female sex life. Today I'm looking forward to cooking a nice turkey & some nice dishes for Thanksgiving. So for me life is good, I just kind of go with the flow without any hard written plans.

Even though it's more mainstream for "male bodied persons" to get ear piercings, it's still more or less rebellious against society. But, it is odd for me to see a lot of ultra macho guys with each ear pierced.

Nice thread. :)

2014

1)  Made the decision to stop deluding myself after 25 years.

2) Came through a tremendously difficult year personally and professionally without wigging out or topping myself.

3) Came out to my closest friends and my mother.

4) Started hormones.

5) Stopped pretending to be someone that I'm not.

6) Put all the pieces in place so next year should go relatively smoothly.

2015

1) Laser. Good god, it's a NEED.

2) Assemble a new and better wardrobe.

3) Get my confidence up so I can feel okay going out in public dressed like me, instead of this bet-hedging, androgynous look I'm hiding behind atm.

4) Kick the world's collective backside and make my new life a winner! :D
