Title: Hello Finally

My name is Erin, 24 years old MAAB living between Philly and NYC. I figured after roughly a year and a half of lurking it was time I introduce myself and post something.
My story isn't too different from the countless others I have read on here. Since I was roughly 10 years old I can remember feelings of gender dysphoria; despite at the time being confused about what exactly what it was I was experiencing. It wasn't until my mid teen years that I learned to interpret those feelings into something outside of confusion and shame. Despite knowing who I was and what I had to do for close to a decade, I let perceived societal and scholastic pressures get in the way of the pursuit of my true self. Just short of two years ago I went to seek out a therapist to start the process of going on HRT, but let myself become discouraged for various reasons. So here I am a little less than two years later, back at the starting block of contacting therapists in pursuit of get onto HRT with a determination to finally get started down the path to expressing who I am openly to the world.
As for details about myself unrelated to gender identity; I have a huge passion for soccer, hockey, anything winter related, surfing, and music(whether it be listening or playing).
Well anyway that is a brief summary of me, so hello to everyone in the Susan's family and all the lurkers who have yet to join.

Welcome! It's great to hear from you.
Although, I know there are a lot of similarities between your story, and many others, mine included (hey... it took me until my early thirties to finally stop running from myself, and I'm always so impressed with people who have the strength and maturity to do it when they are younger), all of us are different and have different paths, and I firmly believe that things happen when they are meant to happen. I don't think it's a fate or destiny thing, it's just that we can't move ahead as people until we are open to that possibility, so, if I could be so bold, I'd say you've picked the perfect time.
On a side note, although I don't know the first thing about surfing or soccer, I'm a totally winter person and love hockey as well, so if you're ever looking for someone on here to share that with, I'm your girl! :)

Giselle I certainly agree that everyone has their own path and that things have a way of working out when you open yourself to possibilities, despite what my poor wording may have indicated. Also it is great to see that someone else who might be excited for snow.
Contributing to community that has helped me in the past through reading the experiences of others is certainly a big part of why I decided to start posting.
