Title: Transitioning slooooowly
Post by: zordeles on November 30, 2014, 10:06:22 AM
A year ago I came out to my spouse. That went better than expected. I figured she'd go running for the hills. She's still not quite sure what to make of my being transgendered. But on the whole, very supportive. We even went shopping and she picked out some very cute outfits for me.:-)   I've been looking for a gender specialist in my area but no joy. I'm slowly working on being myself more and more every day. Even when I'm "not trying" to pass, its becoming more noticeable that I'm a woman. Several of the stores we shopped at this wknd addressed us both as "ladies". Made my day. :-)  So, to get to the point, hi everyone! I'm glad to be here. I can use the support!

She's still not 100% sure what to make of it, but at least she's trying to understand. I love her all the more for that.

Wives like that are few and far between.  She sounds like a keeper and an awesome girl to be around!

(It's worth noting that you're probably a really great spouse yourself - if you weren't, she'd have used this as an opportunity to run.  You're a rather special person who means a whole lot to her too.)

It's always great to hear the happy stories, those little moments and successes that make everything worthwhile. :)

After doing my laundry today, I realized I've been transitioning for quite a while. Lol  I've got more female clothing than I do male and it made up more than half the total amount..... Needless to say, ALL the male clothes were in the hamper. It dawned on me when I was putting it all away that I had 2x as much female things STILL clean than I did male dirty. Lol!! Then I kinda lost my happy place when I got back from an appt and saw a sink full of dishes I'd been neglecting . ..

Well, tonight I made a leap and confided in a co-worker. I can't keep this a secret  forever. Its killing me little by little.
He didn't make any snide remarks. I told him that my plan is to come out to my phobic family after the 1st of the year, so I can't be blamed for "ruining" their holiday.
Then we got into discussing the local therapists and how a good share of them are quacks. His apparently sucks. And while mine isn't a gender specialist, he is understanding.
Anyway....he didn't freak out and we've carried on as we did before, so that's a plus. [emoji41]

It's so frustrating right now. I've been talking with several people that are close to me and coming out is right on the tip of MMU tongue and during every conversation it's about all I'm thinking. For some reason I just can't get it out of my mouth. The wife already knows and send to be adjusting slowly.
