Been watching alot of laser hair removal videos to get an idea of the treatments. Im gonna start this coming year but am trying to decide if I should have my face done using tria or remington laser hair removal at home or just other parts of my body or have it all done by a pro. Im not worried about any pain. If I could get through a kidney stone awhile back, I forsure can handle any pain plus money is no problem. I just dont know if it's worth more sitting in a office where it's done or at home where Id wear goggles still and close my eyes and do the treatments. What is your suggestion? I think I might of wrote about this here many many months ago but can't remember.

If I could get the hair removed, Id feel more happier about myself. Id still have alot left to do but it would be a start to looking more myself.

Personally, I tried a couple of home treatment options first, but found they just weren't up to the job, so ended up getting about 14 sessions of professional laser - hurt like hell to begin with, but the results were worth it.

If you can do laser it's a good start but you may have to do electrolysis later to get the hairs that can't be zapped by laser. Do it professionally.

I had to do electrolysis because I have dark skin.

Pain is there but it's less than I thought it would be besides I take pain pills 1-2 hours before I go and it helps.

I understand that laser goes a lot faster than electrolysis, but I am worried my skin is to dark because sometimes people who do not know me do not think "white" but think I am from the Latin America or the Mediterranean (I've had Mexicans try and speak spanish, thinking I am from Mexico and met people who have thought I am from Israel). My hair is very dark, but how dark is too dark for skin, I don't want to do something where I somehow end up looking like Michael Jackson. 

My wife is Latina, and has no problem with laser hair removal. You would need to have the place doing the lasering tell you if you're skin is too dark.
I have the tria laser at home, which my wife also uses, and it has done a great job of killing off my dark facial hair. Too bad only 25 percent of my hair was dark enough to laser. Electrolysis for the rest.    :-\

which is less expensive, laser or electrolysis, and which is less damaging to to the skin?

General rule is if your skin and hair type will take laser have that first and then clear with electro.

The large powered IPL lasers do a better and quicker job than the home type. But make sure you go to a professional and not a 'beauty salon' preferably a place that specializes in woman suffering from POCS as they are very aware of the problems. All reputable places will do a test on you first to make sure you are compatible with the laser.

Some woman with light facial hair have good results with home systems but do be careful as there is a temptation to overdo it. Remember you need a break of about 6 weeks between treatments for the next follicle cycle to kick in.
