Title: Remembering Dimebag Darrel
Post by: Matthew on December 08, 2014, 04:54:07 PM
Today, it is 08/12/14, exactly 10 years since the day Dimebag was shot and murdered at a gig. 10 years since metal lost a legend, a brother and one of the most influential guitarists of all time.

There's an article below with interviews from current musicians remembering him, he is gone but are we gonna forget him? No way punk.

Today, blast some Pantera, remember him for not only the amazing musician he was but the great guy he was.

Rest in peace, Dime.

OMG, was that 10 years ago?   I was at work that day and we listened to EVERYTHING he ever recorded over a couple of days.

Sadly I only got to see him play once opening for Black Sabbath and Pantera had to totally suck that night.   I mean they were so drunk that at times it was like they were playing 4 different songs.

I do have Darrell's guitar pick in my collection.   I might just have to use it today.

RIP Dude!

I never was a Pantera fan. I found them to be overrated and really boring. However, I thought that it was horrible that Darrell was murdered. No one deserves that. Even if it were a musician that I actually hate (like Chris Barnes), I would never celebrate their death. That's just sick.

Now THIS makes me feel old!

I was quite the Pantera fan back in the days of yore and his shooting kinda shook me. The guy had a reputation as a terrific guy and he was pretty much the last guy on the mainstream metal scene you'd have expected to get murdered, let alone in such a horrific way.
