Post by: PhoenixGurl2016 on December 21, 2014, 04:24:22 PM
Hi, I am a gamer myself. I like Video games but I also enjoy cards games like TCGs. Anybody else play cards? I myself play Pokemon, Netrunner, and DC Deck Building game.

I used to be real big into Yu gi oh. But then the Synchro monsters came out and I really lost interest... Love card games though, and i would LOVE to design my own.

I got way too much Magic the Gathering cards and I sometimes play with them, too. I'm not a good player by any means, I just do it for the lulz. :D

I actually was going to try to do that when I was younger. Did a bunch of research on what I needed however did not get around to the game making part

Sometimes its tough to get a project going.  I used to make fake cards on fan websites when I was younger.  It's lots of fun, but I need motivation, heh.

I'm a Magic: The Gathering/Harry Potter/Pokemon/Yu-Gi-Oh! player myself. Haven't had anybody to play any of the above with in almost three years now, but I'm hardly rusty...except maybe HP and PKMN. Haven't played either of those in over a decade.

I started card games with Pokemon, but wasn't serious. I have also played MagiNation, and the DragonballZ card game. But i stuck with Yu Gi Oh for about ten years, I think? Heh, I've been out of the game for over two years now. But I loved mastering the crazy rules it had.

Omg i LOVE Netrunner. Do you ever hit up the OCTGN servers to play online? (I haven't tried it myself)

I do not. :( Had to get out of Netrunner to pay for other things. I also got rid of my regional tokens and playmat.

one card game, not CCG but deck building one that I will recommend to everyone is Shadowrun Crossfire, its tons of fun and a cooperative game being the premise of the game is a group of specialists working together to finish a mission and get paid you have to assist each other or your scroomed (scroomed, is Screwed+Doomed)

besides that has anyone else ever played Legend of the Five Rings? how about Vampire the eternal struggle? i haven't played either of them very often but they are fun.

If we would like to expand more, I also play sentinels of the multiverse (a Comic book co-op game) and Bang!. That being said I recommend Thunderstone.

Damn. Life happens.

I'm really thinking of checking out Arkham Asylum, being as how I love HP Lovecraft. Can anyone attest to it being worth it? Also, really cheesy, but because I'm Bavarian and grew up with this piece of history, Castles of Mad King Ludwig :)
