Title: Alternate domain

If this site goes down for any reason as a result of the domain hijacking, I have registered gendersupport.org and will bring the site back up there.

Thanks, Susan!
I've already bookmarked the page, just in case.
Too much stoopid sh*t going on in the world these days. I'm sorry you have endure this on top of everything else.
Thank you again for everything. You bring light where there was only darkness.

Thank you, once the new link is established I intend to switch for the duration. Perhaps dropping hits to the original will help.

Not that I know much about these technical things but have you thought of using it as a mirror so it's always up and running anyway or would that be a bandwidth drain?

I'm not an expert on webservers, but would it be possible to have both susans.org and gendersupport.org point to the same IP address? At the moment, they don't. I know it's possible for different FQDNs to point to the same IP (we do it all the time.)
I believe the server software would have to recognize both domain names, assuming it looks at the host name in the HTTP request; I don't know how hard that is to do.

Here's hoping the ***REDACTED*** forcing the site into this situation learns about Kharma (Spelling?). Donated what I can in the meantime.
This was the first place I found where I didn't feel like a weirdo, pervert, or freak. I learned that it is actually possible to fix the way I felt from this site.
Thank you all!

OK, not being computer literate I'm not even sure how to word this question but here goes.
1. I started the thread "Kicked temporarily from site" OK
2. Got Susan's message OK
3. Clicked subscribe link...was told I was trying to view a profile that does not exist??
4. Went back to thread, clicked gendersupport link, saw replies not previously seen, ok this must be what was meant by 'other domain" cool
5. Tried subscribe link again, same message?? Saw reply about 24hr wait, does this mean I have to wait 24hr to subscribe? I tried googling domain...well a bit too much computer speak for my tastes, so could someone reply in a more non-computer type way? Thanks, if nothing else its given me something to do for awhile ::) Dani

Sorry Beth, didnt work. I did not list this in my numbered list of things I did, but I deleted my old bookmark, bookmarked anew, closed out then used the new bookmark but got the same result....says I'm trying to view a profile that does not exist? When I try to login it just puts me back to the previous place and I am able to navigate the site perfectly BUT without the ability to use the subscribe link. Cannot figure this one out. Dani

I notice that this thread is on the gendersupport.org site, not susans.org. But the link I gave (and perhaps you tried) is on Susans...Perhaps double check? (fwiw, I checked the donate/subscribe links on gendersupport, they go to a page on Susans)

Thanks Beth, I will have to PM cause I tried again from gendersupport but it just takes me back to Susan's. Dani
IMPORTANT: Just tried donation button and I can get 'there' but to try to get to subscribe that's where things go awry.

Good question. It might also be a cookies thing. My browser's default is not to accept cookies, which gave me some sign-in problems on gendersupport.org until I remembered to enable them for the new URL.

No I logged off Susan's then used the new bookmark with the same result, and Tysillio may have a point about the cookies thing.
ANYWAYS IT WORKED!!
But here is how I made it happen, I had to actually go and change the address bar (I think that's what it is called) and change from susans.org to gendersupport.org while in the subscription page. Really interesting side note....I still cannot get here and even 'see' these posts unless I click on Mrs Izzy's link, even from gendersupport. Without clicking the link in 'Kicked temporarily from site' I can only view the first page. Weird, but now things are golden ;) Dani

Sure enough, the donate link on this page works, but the subscribe link is an error message for a missing profile.
