What are the benefits and disadvantages of keeping ovaries if the person doesn't want to take T?
I want them to be removed because of the cysts but I don't plan on taking T -at least not the normal male range amount. So I was thinking of taking estrogen but what got me thinking is...what are the side effects from that since it's in a medication form and not the E made naturally?
Is it basically taking the same exact form of E given to MTF for HRT? If so, what forms do they come with? Pills, shots, etc?
I personally wouldn't want one hormone to overpower the other but to be about the same amount but I don't know if that's achievable?
For example, I was thinking of it like the hormone replacement;Synthroid for hypothyroidism condition and since that has side effects I was wondering how I would be affected if I were to take a hormone (although different) that the body doesnt produce anymore
It doesn't look like I will be able to have top surgery before hysterectomy like I wanted to.

Based on what I know, estrogen comes in pills, patches, and vaginal creams. I'm sure it could be injected but it isn't usually. And, if you have your ovaries removed, you'd need to be on some kind of hormone replacement pretty much forever. Surgical menopause can be very rough-- disabling hot flashes several times a day, mood swings, vaginal dryness enough that it becomes uncomfortable to walk. And being without any hormones long-term can lead to osteoporosis bad enough to cause fractures with only minor injuries.
