So yeah. I went a bit insane and set up a dating profile on a site for same sex couples.

I'm interested in a relationship with a woman and I figured that kind of site would at least mean I wouldn't be approached by men - genuine, ->-bleeped-<-s, creeps or otherwise.

Anyway I thought I'd see how it goes - there are a few ladies in Oz but not that many in my age range or location. One of them has already sent me an "ice breaker", and that was before I set up my profile properly (now done). I've responded with a "smile" and some of my own "ice breakers".

I don't know about my chances generally. If I get contacted by any woman with a proposal to meet up I will come clean that I'm trans and still have "original plumbing" but hope to have a renovation this year. If she decides to bail at that point, fair enough - people often have sexual choice because they prefer certain genitals to others, and I understand that for some lesbian women (especially if they have been abused or raped) a penis, regardless of who it is attached to, is very unpalatable. But if she decides to give me a go, that's awesome. And scary. Very scary. But in an exciting kind of way.

Hopefully being trans doesn't get me kicked off the site. I've heard of that happening. :-\

Anyway, fingers crossed that my insanity pays off and I meet a gorgeous, caring and loving gal for fun, chats and frolics! ;D

I met my partner through a dating site 35 dates in 5 weeks got to learn a lot! None sexual just met for coffee or tea.
This being said I did mention in my profile that I wasn't interested in chatting online but would rather meet in person. Too many want to keep up the online thing....that weeds them out, and gets the more serious people who want a relationship.

Hrm. That reminds me. A while back I set up a Tinder account on a friends recommendation without realising what it was.

I think my account might still be active :~o  omgoodness I can only imagine ...

In Australia there are a few sites.some you get to set up and browse who you like free and chat by sending a " kiss" or "flirt" thing. Then they can return the conversation etc....
Then there are sites where you can set up your profile, browse the appropriate category,age ,and other such as kids non smoking etc which you have set up to 'weed out'  what you are looking for in a partner. Then to send a contact to communicate it costs Money (buy an intro for about $8 but have to buy $80 worth. Then if you start internal emails it only lasts a month which also stops the back and forth thing and gets the meeting thing happening sooner).I found this the best as when it tends to hit the hip pocket you tend to be a little more picky rather than giving this one or that one a message.

I don't have the guts to put myself out there - the last time I dated was 30 years ago and the thought of putting myself online on a dating site scares the poop out of me. You are very brave!

I don't think I've dated in about ten years. Certainly never as a lesbian, so that has me a bit freaked out. I've been checking out a few sites for dating tips and fortunately it doesn't seem too different from the hetro norm, just with less emphasis on the guy doing all the heavy lifting, seems to be a more equitable process which I love the idea of. But yeah, scared poopless myself!!

Grace, good luck on your dating adventures. I hope that it works for you. I have given up that scene a long time ago and now that I am turning 65, I don't think I have any regrets. Back then there were a lot of one time only dates and spent big at restaurants. Never again, plus I no longer have the interest in finding anyone, even to meet over coffee. By the way, you are looking great!

Just remember you no longer are expected to get the door or pull the chair out.

Yes. Enjoy being called from girls. Girls like to talk a lot, and be ready for it.

In my case, some women are particularly interested in me, whether it is sexual or just curiosity, but I can not proceed any further as I am married. Just chatting on beauty and fashion, etc.
