Title: How long after therapy to start HRT
Post by: Ashlyn on January 10, 2015, 05:57:25 AM
Hi

I was wondering how long it usually takes to start HRT after therapy.
I have only just told my doctor last year november and I am still waiting for my first appointment.

I know its different for everyone and I was just wondering how long you took you guys before you started.

Thanks!
Ashlyn

I believe from your other post you are in the UK. How long depends on primarily which GIC your GP has referred you to, as initial appointments to the GIC vary wildly from one to the other. Thereafter you will be assessed at your first appointment and sometimes it is the second or third appointment they will prescribe you HRT, depending on the outcome of those appointments.

To give you an idea of how long you are likely to be waiting through the NHS, have a look at this thread https://www.susans.org/forums/index.php/topic,178573.msg1576455.html#msg1576455 (https://www.susans.org/forums/index.php/topic,178573.msg1576455.html#msg1576455)
