Title: first endo appt scheduled
Post by: michelle82 on January 10, 2015, 07:28:30 AM
first off I'm super excited to have my first end appointment finally scheduled. its not until early march though! so i have some time to get some other things in order.

the scheduler told me the doctor is typically booked up for 2 to 3 months, and on my first visit he just wants to do a meet and greet, and then tell me what blood tests i will need to have ordered.

is this typically? should i expect then to wait another 3 months to get back in the office to actually start HRT? i'm wondering if i should just go to the trans clinic instead.

any thoughts?? thanks!!

If anyone is curious, i decided to go with my local LGBT clinic instead of the endo specialist. The primary reason being that my  insurance considers the endo specialist "out of network" so my co-pays would be MUCH higher.

secondly i think i feel more comfortable going to a trans friendly clinic, as i can also receive primary care, and lab draws all in the same place.

I will be going in for a physical at the end of February, and then in March I should hopefully be prescribed HRT!
