I tried gluing my prosthetic on yesterday. I used Hollister spray but it's not working for me. I had to reapply the adhesive several times yesterday and three times so far today. I've made sure that everything is clean. I used the spray that ReelMagik sent. And I've been letting the adhesive cure anywhere from 3-10 minutes. It's driving me crazy! I've heard good things about BT-460, but it's so expensive.

So I've got a couple questions:
Is there an adhesive that works better than Hollister but is relatively cheap?
If BT-460 is gonna be my best bet, how long does 1 oz last you?
What is the LolaJake tape kit made out of?
Is there a way I could make my own?

One more thing. How do I keep the adhesive from getting everywhere? I've glued things together that should never be glued together...

I can't answer most of your questions, but I have a thought.  It may be that you need to build up a couple of layers before it adhears correctly?  Also, a tip worth trying that DJ told me - spread a thin layer of adheasive then use a blow dryer to get it warm, leave set for an hour and then repeat this process - after the second round it's supposed to adhear correctly. 

As far as it not getting everywhere ?  This was one of my first thoughts when you told me that you were to put adhesive all around the lip! 

I'll have to try that. I've been using an awful lot of adhesive just the last two days.

It's mainly that I think it seeps out around the edges or something because I'll end up with my thigh glued to my prosthetic and stuff.

I have the RM 6" and can't get it to stick with adhesive either. 

A member here recommended to me that I should try the Lola Jake tape kit:

Not that I've heard of. 

I emailed the guy from eroticreations because their site says adhesive coming soon. He said its a 2 part mix of skin safe silicone. .sounds like a littlebit of trouble but he said it will adhere most medical silicones to skin..so i will order that and trysome when they get it available.

Just wondering if you ordered the Extra thick?  I did not - I got the extra strength, but not the extra thick.  I find it's easier to get it where you want it than the Holister spray, but I don't see much difference in the adhesiveness.

Yeah, I got the extra thick. I don't like that Hollister is a spray. It's really difficult to work with. Does the Factor II stuff come with a brush?

Mine was not the extra thick, but yes it has a brush applicator.  They also shipped quickly.  Curious, have you ever tried RM's adhesive?  I know it's crazy expensive but DJ said he liked it best.  Do let me know what you think of the extra thick.  The regular thick extra strength is not what I would consider thin by any means. 

I'm also having problems involving the adhesion. I just got my Reelmagik STP in the other day, and it works great....but only when I FIRST put it on and the adhesive holds it correctly in place. Within 5 minutes its peeling off already. I am also using the Hollister spray because I actually forgot to order the adhesive from Reelmagik when I ordered the STP, and didnt realize this until I got the email saying it was shipping! So i spent $50 getting this Hollister spray 2 day shipped, and it arrived the same day as the prosthetic. I'm very disappointed by it all, because i feel if something were to correctly hold the prosthetic in place it'd work properly. The hollister spray just isnt doing it.

Does anyone know if the adhesive sold by Reelmagik works properly? I'm considering ordering it to give it a try. The Hollister spray is also a giant pain in the ass because its a spray and gets everywhere.

If you are wanting a good tape to start with, try gorilla tape at home depot.  I think they may make in pink, but better than duct tape, and less harm on the skin if you are sensitive.  I used it for something else but it holds to the skin better than other tapes and glues if you shave and prep the site w alcohol.  If it has to be double sided, maybe glue 2 strips together in advance?  But the trick to make it adhear longer, or at least for me, I used one of those sewing things that looks like a spur and perferated a bunch of holes in it to allow the moisture to drain.  Otherwise it builds up and the tape falls off.  Also the tape can only be used once, your outer skin layer will clog the surface.

I used to work w alot of polymers and tape before this.  Hopefully this helps;)

Update:

Since reading this I decided to try this. I blow dried the adhesive that had remained on the prosthetic from my two prior attempts, then put on a fresh coat and blow dried it. I then left it to sit for an hour. After an hour, I then wiped the applicable areas of my body down with alcohol wipes then adhered the prosthetic. It seems to be holding much better, although I'm still having trouble with the cup area staying adhered, though, admittedly, I might not have put enough adhesive.
I think can manage that part not adhering if the rest stays put, I'm waiting for this 32oz of water I just chugged down to make me have to go so I can get some practice in. I'm thinking if you just give the balls area a "lift" when you go to pee, it will create a seal. I learned the hard way last night that you'll make a mess of yourself and the bathroom floor if a proper seal isnt created.  -_-

Do keep us posted Aero - I wondered if the balls could be placed manually as I am still not sold on adhesive in that area :)

I haven't tried ReelMagik's adhesive. DJ sent a sample, but it leaked a bunch and just created a sticky and oily mess in the baggie. I've only tried hollister.

I'll definitely try blow drying it. But I'm getting my wisdom teeth out tomorrow so I'm holding off on adhesive for a few days. Lol

You can definitely use it without the adhesive on the cup. You just gotta hold your balls a bit. I've used it more without adhesive than I have with it.

Update 2:

Well, the blow drying certainly helped, the tab stays adhered for the most part. However, I cannot get the cup part to stay adhered, which then comes loose and gets adhesive everywhere down there and then my skin starts sticking to itself. After my update last night, I wore it around the house and the tab stayed for the most part. I will add that I wasnt doing much moving around as I was doing homework. Before I went to bed I removed it, washed it, blow dried it, added a fresh coat and blow dried it again and let it sit out over night.

So this morning I got up early as I wanted to try it again and *maybe* wear it to work. I also held my bladder through the shower so I could give it a good practice try again (that was a feat in and of itself as I had a couple glasses of wine last night). I showered and made sure the areas were extra clean and wiped down with alcohol wipes and applied the prosthetic. Also put on underwear and walked to and from my bedroom to test the adhesion. Tab area stuck well, cup area came off pretty quickly.
At this point I finally went to try to actually use it. I was pushing up slightly on the cup part. I leaned forward as directed by the instructions, kind of bracing myself with one hand on the toilet lid. I even held back a bit on peeing. Was going well at first, but the mission was FUBAR (F***** Up Beyond All Repair). Made a mess of my underwear and the bathroom floor, yet again. -_-
I then quickly had to scrub the hell out of myself getting all that damn adhesive off because I certainly wasnt going to wear it to work after that.

I am going to try removing the adhesive from the cup area and just practicing more with positioning it when I need to use it I suppose.

Also contemplating ordering Reelmagik's Extra strength adhesive and giving it a go.

Looking forward to that fateful day I finally use the urinal...

I'm not sure what made me think of it, cause I watched the video quite a long time ago... However, I remembered the techniques described in this video :

Basically, it's a quick description on how to pee standing without the use of an STP. You gotta lean forward but also push your hips forward and arch your back a bit, and for a the toilet at home, it generally works for me if I want to. I don't do this method very often, mostly because I have to drop my pants all the way to the floor and I might as well sit if I'm gonna do that.
Anyways, I thought about this randomly and it occurred to me to maybe try this with the prosthetic. So I went and removed as much adhesive as I could, primarily from the cup part, and just kinda stuck it on real quick by the tab and positioned my body in such a way described in the video. Low and behold I peed without making a mess. So I thought I'd share this in case it helps anyone else, I'm gonna try again in the morning but for now I'm off to bed.

I love using urinals. Makes me feel so good about myself. Good luck getting to that point!

I got a little more info just now from the guy at eroticreations. . He said theirs will be a little kit that you mix up somehow but assured me its easy and will stick really well.. apparently this is a silicone that will build up on your skin and blend the prosthetic in helping eliminate leaks as well as add to the realism of the entire 'package' lol  sounds very interesting,  ill review as soon as they have it ib stock, im orderibg some..

Hey Aiden - Eroticreations just listed their silicone adhesive last night.  I hope to see some reviews soon, BUT their site does say it is recommended for use ONLY on their products?

Thanks for letting me know eroticreations just made it available.. i know it says its for eroticreations products but when i talked to the owner he said most likely it would adhere to any platinum based silicone which from what i understand is what medical silicone essentially is. It seems better than a spray because it actually becomes part of your prosthetic in a way, from what it seems..i will order some tonight and see, it's fairly cheap,couldn't hurt to try :)
