Post by: Amy1988 on January 17, 2015, 08:45:24 AM
Does anyone know if Dr Marci Bowers still does SRS?  I think she moved out of Colorado.

I believe she still does, but she's out near SF these days.

She's still quite active and is in San Mateo, on the southern edge of San Francisco.  Actually quite close to SFO airport.

Her waiting list is usually longer than a year.

Wow!  Just shows there are not enough surgeons doing this.

Hy Amy,

I guess you could see it also in a different light:

There are a lot fo SRS surgeons out there - but only the good ones are always booked quite far ahead - no matter where you go. We di have more than 10 surgeons performing SRS in Germany - but only ONE of those produces acceptable results - and he is booked out for 36 months in advance - the others produce results that will make you cry or end your life. Waiting several months is absolutely worth the time - considering you will live the rest of your life with that result, don't you think??

What amazed me about Dr. Bowers is that she also helps genital mutilation victims to get some pleasure and joy out of their genitals by restoring their capability to experience sexuality in a free and wonderful way after the surgery (which is denied by other surgeons that this were possible - yet her patients claim otherwise ;-) )!!!

^ well said.

I also like to add that one shouldn't be discourage by the wait time. Often, there are cancellation that occurs which will bump you up on her list.  For example, I was scheduled for Nov. 2015 but they had a cancellation which bump me up to as early as Feb. 2015. It doesn't happen too often, but it does happen.

:)

So what do I need to do to book surgery with Dr. Bowers?

Here is her website: http://marcibowers.com/mtf/

Process is a little different if you are paying out of pocket vs. insurance I think but the requirements are the same. I would recommend giving her office a call :)

well, the 18 month wait list is because she takes most insurance plans, and her constantly evolving modified inversion technique is about as close to a natal configuration as we can get (IMO its even superior to Brassard and Supporn's versions, and recycles more of the material too.)
