Hullo, friendly humans (and, statistically speaking, probably some other things),

You can call me Shadow Charms. I like technology, pretty dresses, and puppy noses. I'm a bit like daifuku - kinda strange, but ultimately sweet. When I'm not having an existential crisis, I like to amuse myself by trying to figure out how to turn the English language inside out. I prefer she/her/hers, please.

I'm currently coming off of 12 years of self denial, and am just over a year into transitioning. I am hoping to find some support when it comes to transitioning, as well as learning to live my life as a transgender woman.

To the friends I hope I will meet here, I am happy to know you. To any enemies I may meet here, I hope you like the jam I put in your sneakers - it's strawberry; I know you hate strawberry.

Hehe. When I started at my current job, whenever anyone said: "Surely you can't be serious!", one of my coworkers would respond with: "I am serious, and don't call me Shirley." in the most serious voice he could (which was not very serious). I wasn't sure about that job when I started, but that really made me feel like I was in the right place. That coworker eventually became my boss, and now he'll just throw out goofy lines from 80's comedies in the middle of serious conversations, because he knows I'll get them. It's kind of our little game.

A hospital? What is it?

It's a big building with windows, but that's not important right now.
