Title: Transgender candidate reportedly applies for Tempe city manager job

The former city manager of Largo, Flordia -- who was fired earlier this year when his sex change plans were made public -- reportedly has applied for the Tempe city manager's job.

I would be very surprised if S. Stanton can ever secure another job as city manager.  I just don't think that any city wants this kind of publicity.  It's a distraction that they don't need.  I have to hand it to her, I really do.  We are going to watch her in a very public way go through all the crap that so many of us have experienced.

Yeah, she kind of shot herself in the foot in regards to that type of job with going so public.  Perhaps it wasn't intentional to go as public as she did, but making an appearance on Larry King certainly didn't help matters.  I guess one good thing that came from this is that it can help educate people now to see her not being able to get a job just for being TG. :-\
