Title: Out at work.
Post by: Dierdre Lenore on February 06, 2015, 02:45:05 PM
Well, I did it. Jumped off the cliff and reached out to my HR dept. That went very well. I still haven't gotten over the pronoun or name hurdle by any means but am presenting feminine 100% of the time. This is really exciting and really scary. One more week until my first real therapy appointment and I will probably have a serious talk with Mom this weekend.  ???

Way to go!  I hope this brings relief for you, as it did for me. ;)
Congrats!

I completely understand, Pansy.  I remember when I came out at work that after the newness died down for everyone, work ended up being one of the most comfortable places for me to be.  It was like a big exhale.  I hope the same for you!

It's a small production shop I've been at for 10 years. 13 people work here, (on site), but we recently got swallowed by a corporation run out of the Bible Belt. HR in St. Louis was really cool, but im not sure how my Manager in the same place will take it. These people are all friends now, even think we'll go out for a couple drinks in a few. Not one word. Amazing!
