Title: last minute doctors arrrrggghhhhh rant

why do doctors leave things while last minute. im bipolar and i have to see the consultant still to get my prescription. i have had lectures on compliance of taking meds yet every time the prescription runs out on the day i see him.this time its run out a day before. i rang to ask and they said oh its alright miss a day. these are meds ive had to build up over months and trained myself not to miss a dose,im on hive meds and i cant miss a dose of them. whats wrong with giving a couple days more. i also have to get a sick note from the gp and i ask 4/5 days before its due but like today he still hasnt done it and it will be last minute this afternoon which means it is days late by the time the post has got it to its destination. they know i get wound up with last minute things,im one that turns up to appointments 20 mins early, but they still leave it to the last second. with last minute prescriptions ect its ok till something goes wrong then i get over stressed trying to sort it out. i think im ocd with it i just cant settle if i know somethings on a knife edge. it maybe ok to miss a dose but its not to me and i dont want to find out. my gum clinic know i suffer this way and have made sure i have a buffer supply as the meds are delivered by post and have been known to be late or lost. why cant all the docs be like that. if i worked in a just in time environment id be mad by the end of the first day lol.
