Hi Django,
GP is just your local doctor. Perhaps you could visit them and maybe they might advise you to go and see a psychologist or something. I did have the idea to transition in the Netherlands back in 2008 but I chickened out.
I cant really skype you but your more than welcome to pm anytime.
I am sure that you can go to meet ups etc in the netherlands. I didn't do that unfortunately sure f you search online you can find something. I used to go to a lot of fetish clubs int he netherlands that had a lot of crossdressers and trans people there. I met some pretty awesome people at those events but that is more of club atmosphere. At least you could be yourself there for a night out if you aren't too comfortable going out in the day.
Funny thing was I was all dolled up at one of those events and I bumped into one of my colleagues LOL I couldnt believe it. I didnt see her again though LOL.
I haven't started HRT yet but I am going to see a psychiatrist about it soon though(waiting list)

Hi Joanne,
Ah ok, how old are you now? Chickening out is the easiest thing to do haha
Yes Holland has a lot of fetish clubs for CD'ers and trans people because it's accepted. It's a good idea tho but still I need a sort of buddy to help me with certain things haha. And then I can meet some people at events like those.
Haha, I want to see her face of surpriseness.
How long is that waiting list?

Im 39 Django. When i arrived I wasnt sure how things work in the netherlands and maybe I wasnt ready yet? I got then sidelined into life and a job and didnt know how to break the inertia to deal with my feelings.
Yeah is tough to have these feeling but knowing no one or not being able to trust anyone with these feelings. Maybe if you contacted a therapist or psychologist they can point you in the right direction or put you in contact with a support group that has people your age going through similar things? In hindsight I should of done that sooner than I did.
;D That lady I am not sure if she recognized me LOL, I definitely recognized her though. I could of died though when i saw her. :o
There may not be a waiting list in holland, is only because i am living in Australia and they seem to be backwards here for this sort of issue.
Ohhhh I miss the netherlands funnily enough

I did go to my local doctor and told him that I'm transgender (really one of the most difficult things I did in my life) he is the first person I told face to face. He made the letter and I sent it to the VUmc.
BTW I am 24 (in 2 months 25) myself and another transgender (sort of my inspiration) told me that's a good age to start (she stated Carmen Carrera as example) and she also told me to use Estradiol Valerate (injectable form) in combination with Oral Spiro as preferable HRT medicines (I am also reading something about Decapeptyl and blockers, is Decapeptyl an alternative and are blockers needed? Or is that something the specialist will tell you) because it yields better results and it's better on your body. And if needed in the future combined with FFS because it has amazing results as she said to me (you then 99% sure will pass she said).
Do you agree with this? Is Estradiol Velerate (injectable form) better in combination with Oral Spiro (and is Decapeptyl an alternative and are blockers needed? Or is that something the specialist will tell you)? Is 24 a good age? And is passing almost 99% when you combine HRT and FFS? I saw VUmc uses other medicine.
Thanks ;D (I see Susans as my number 1 resource of experts/professionals)

Thats great Djangos,
you got further than me in holland. Here in Australia it is like the Third World. I have to wait like 6 months just to see a psychiatrist about these issues. I so much wish I were in Holland right now - except for the weather etc...
I have yet to start HRT. Can you tell me how quick it is to start that in the Netherlands?
I am looking at doing FFS next year with Dr Chettawut in Thailand - you can google his website. That is if I have saved enough many and my partner is on board etc...Without having seen a picture of you is difficult to say if you will pass 100% but they say FFS gives striking results and makes it difficult to pass as male even afterwards.
24 is a great age to do this. I wish i started at the age of 24. Are you in Eindhoven? That is where I used to live. Love it there!
You will have to talk with the medical hospital in the netherlands about all those dosages and the drugs they administer, they are the professionals and have monitors hundreds of people so they know what they are doing. Saying that we arent really allowed to discuss dosage on the forum as its against the sites policy.
Feel free to PM me anytime Django.

Thanks, I thought it would be harder but practically it's your local doctor -> letter -> VUmc -> your first appointment so that's thumbs up for Holland (others can learn from this). Haha yes the weather isn't the best.
I read it's all about what the gender team says, it could be after the 1st appointment or the 5th (they analyse how serious it is) and then you will be placed in an 18 months VUmc treatment and start with HRT and talk with various people in that 18 months to get the best treatment (so that's a big plus to)
I googled Dr Chettawut and got some weird results? He has created a lot of victims? The results on his website are good tho. So I don't know what to think of that. I know Bart van de Ven (from Belgium) he has amazing results to.
I am in Nijmegen but I lived very close to Eindhoven till mine 22.
They are the professionals indeed, I will talk with them. And sorry I didn't know that.
I don't have the rights to PM anyone? :(

Hi Django, does your health insurance cover this treatment. I'm with CZ in the netherlands. I saw Bart Van de Ven, maybe he is more used to treating caucasian features and is a lot closer to you!
I went to Nijmegan a couple of times on my way to Arnham and Deventer. ->-bleeped-<- the level of care in Holland is great, feeling a little frustrated with Australia at the moment.
Saying that it is 30 C and had a great walk on the beach earlier. Couldnt of done that in Scheveningen, would freeze to death LOL! :P

Yes Nijmegen and Arnhem are great cities, I thought Australia was super modern haha.
Every country has it's ups and it's downs.
