Title: All night dilator?

Anyone thinking they need to do lots of dilating to keep things open might try sleeping with a dilator in.
It is quite safe so long as the correct dilator is used.
Something like this cheap soft one is good as the veins help keep the lube in place to prevent stiction and make for easy penetration.
It is just the right length and size for most new ladies.

It is best to stick with the schedule and dilators your surgeon recommends. The rigidity in them is for a purpose and soft ones will not accomplish the same effect.

Yes, definitely check with your surgeon before changing anything. (Brassard said the bit about softness being a bad idea, and also that the dilators MUST be easy to disinfect; lastly, he says sleeping with it or leaving it in too long can cause a risk of infection and/or tearing. At least early on - I would assume the risks diminish once you're fully healed, but even so, I didn't experiment with using a dildo at all until about six months post-op and even then I made sure it was *in addition* to the standard regimen.)

Caution as said from Jessica and Jenna.
We do not have areal vagina real natural born vagina with the elasticity and thickness.
Letting anything for that long you could run risks of damage.
If you are a year or so out then maybe it would be something to check with your doctor about.
It is not a big deal having to do a dilation schedule. I worked my way to now 1x a week.
As anything watch what you stick in there.
My nickels worth.
Edited to make it more understand to others but was clear at the time in my own mind.

sweet Jesus, all night? that just sounds, and probably is, as unconfortable, dangerous, and crazy as it sounds.
just my opinion, but there would have been no way, i would have even considered an all night session while i slept. a wrong turn, roll the wrong way, and it could spell diesaster.

You have heard that woman can sleep with a real penis in all night?
My soft dilator is not a foam rubber thing but not rigid plastic either.
As for your ideas of possible harm I have to ask if you have any idea how resilient your flesh is?
Mod Edit- Woman are woman regardless of CIS or trans. TOS 9

while my dilating schedule is now down to once a day, I couldn't imagine sleeping with one, or why.

Muffin : Yeah, I'm with you. :) I wouldn't want to risk it earlier than the once a day (~6 months under Brassard's schedule), and by then I wouldn't need to. Once a week for 15 minutes now - no way I'd want the discomfort and annoyance of trying to sleep a whole night that way vs. 15 minutes while awake and playing Candy Crush!
lilacwoman : Again, my surgeon strongly recommends against it until fully healed, is all I can say. And once fully healed, I don't need to, so.

Quote from: lilacwoman on February 23, 2015, 03:11:21 AMHow could that be true in any sense? Men cannot stay hard that long. You want to tear up your expensive investment that is your call. I will stick to what the surgeon says myself. :)

Maybe the question i would ask is Why??????? I never would being not needed.
I did my schedule as outlined and not any troubles why add more then what's needed.
Dilation process has been done the way instructed for a reason for years now.
