Title: Informed consent and Starting hormones
Post by: lolitalanalola on February 16, 2015, 03:58:45 PM
So hello there, this is my first post on this site and excited to join the community. I just wanted insight on hormones, I recently went to my doctor for hrt and he gave me the option of either taking estrogen of spiro for the first month and then taking the other the next month after my lab work. I chose to start spiro, however I feel that I cant wait a whole month to start estrogen. I know some doctors just prescribe both at the same time, I was wondering if I should just make an follow up appointment as soon as he has an opening, since he has my base level blood work. Additionally I had my therapist mail him a letter of recommendation. What do you think ?

It is your health so do what you feel comfortable with. Direct your care the way you want it done. It is not unusual to start Spiro first then "E" a month or two later though. Pretty standard. Both at the same time is best though and how my Endo did it along with Progesterone.
