Hi
I've posted here before, when I was still trying to figure things out. I'm now living openly as male, and have a name, so thought it made sense to create a new account than hunting around for the old one.
Within the last couple of weeks I've come out to my parents and colleagues at work, as well as most of my friends who didn't already know. Most of it has went better than expected, but I know there's still people I care about finding it difficult to accept so its going to take time. Just trying to be as patient as I can with them and not take anything they say too personally while making clear that this isn't a phase and I'm not changing my mind.
Busy few weeks ahead too. Been invited to an 'open evening' at the GIC on Tuesday to learn a bit more about the process and what goes on there. So I'm looking for that. Also got my first appointment with the local mental health team in a couple of weeks time. Everything's going so fast at the moment, it's an exciting time. I know things are going to slow down a lot soon though, and that nothing much is going to happen now for the next year. That's the bit that's worrying me. I just want everything to happen now, but know that it can't.
