The other day I was looking up devices that allowed for standing urination. kind of a big thing for those of us who could not get the hookup but really want to stand.
I saw several, including one that was a fake penis with a scrotum connected to a small cone. My guess is that the cone would be held against the urethra within the boxers and the fake phallus would allow the urine to flow out the end into a urinal.

The problem I'm seeing with all of these, and some are pretty good, is that you can't walk into a public bathroom with a second penis in your pants, get it set and go. Even in a stall it would be a problem. There would be urine on the device, so it would have to be bagged or risk getting caught rinsing it out in the sink.

The second problem is hair. Female urinary anatomy does not allow for shaking those drops off. I guess in a stall you could reach over and grab toilet paper, but that takes some flexibility.

I know this isn't a problem for everyone, and there is nothing wrong with sitting to urinate if it doesn't bother you. That goes for both trans and cis. Problem is, I do and always have. If I stand over a toilet, one foot per side, say before a shower, I have no problem letting urine down. Sitting is another matter though, and there are times when its five or ten minutes (no joke), even with a full bladder to let down.

I've thought about using a urinary catheter that went from the bladder, out the urethra, through the hollow penis they made surgically, and urinating standing. However, that would risk serious infection, not to mention leakage and needing a way to open and close the catheter so you aren't urinating all over the place.

I've looked at some of the sites given of devices, but come back to the same problems. Has anyone found something successful and reliable?

Kind of follow the discussion of the EZP STP. I get the issue with the tp though. I know some guys with the silicone devices will kind of use the stp to "wipe", not sure how this will work for me having a little odd anatomy. But I will write about this issue. Silicone resists being wet, that is helpful.

For what I know  it depends on the state of your anatomy, if after taking t for awhile and you get some growth the style and how you use a STP will change.  Also how you handle the drops that are left afterward can be a challenging some times.  When you are standing in a stall you don't want to make noise getting tp to wipe with.  The use of a catheter has too many possible problems to even consider for me, inflection, placing the tubing, opening and closing a value.

Yes, I've seen this catheter made as a serious suggestion, but no, people who must use them-- that's one thing and I don't think they would wish it on someone else.

I don't think people listen to those random sounds btw, like tp being pulled out for instance. People aren't anywhere near as "observant" as they are given credit for being.

Sam, you might take a look at the Freshette STP device (yah, I know, horrible name -- and it's pink  :icon_yikes:). It doesn't resemble a penis in the slightest, but it's quite long front to back, and narrow, and it works very well for use outside or in a stall. It's also made of some miracle plastic that repels water, so it pretty much stays dry. I've used one for years, camping in blackfly country, and it's a good product.

I think it might be workable, even around your junk.

I don't suppose you have a picture of the Freshette?

If I had the dough, a hookup would be tempting, but I have better things to do with my IRA (like eating) than having to go in for multiple repairs. Perhaps one day it won't be so hazardous.

That is understandable. It could be seen as endorsing a product.

I don't think my anatomy will cause a problem. Its nice to know that companies will make helpful apparatus's for transgenders. This may not have been, but several products I've found appear to be.

For use in a stall ore single bathroom, my favorite is the SheWee (yes, I know, even worse name). I have both the SheWee and the Freshette.  The SheWee can be kept in a pocket while Freshette is too big.  SheWee does a nice job of wiping and also coated to repell liquid.  For an even better fit in the pocket - just a piece of tubing with a receptacle of choice on the end.  This is what would be used to convert a packer to an STP, but without the packer it can be used alone and easily consealed -although harder to excuse if it falls out of pocket in the hall and Grandma hands it to you with 'is this yours?' LOL -

I'll take a look at the shewee. The freshett is doing a good job, but I'm open to other things as well. I'm amazed at the number of F to M products out there now. The "filled" drawers would have been nice. I just sewed  something in the shape of a phallus out of material and saftey pinned it to my underwear.

I hope nobody minds my intruding as an MTF, but this caught my eye---I've recently stopped standing in the restroom, so always use stalls now, and it never would occur to me to worry about pulling TP afterwards or not. (I often use a bit because, er, it's hard to break certain muscular associations with sitting down to use the restroom.) In a men's room, the default assumption would be that if you're in the stall, you're going to need TP. The only thing that might raise an eyebrow is if you are lightning fast.

Fyi, the reason that FAAB people might want to use TP is anatomical, that the pee catches in your, uh, junk and makes you less likely to dry off, though some guys do not mind this. But I agree re: tp in the stall, I also don't feel that people pay much attention to you. I've even been pretty fast and no one has given me an off look.

I am married and have two daughters, so... I'm rather familiar with the mechanics :-)

If you think of the times you go into public restrooms, how much attention do you pay to what the person in the next stall is doing? Being either an F to M or M to F raises paranoid fears in places of vulnerability. I think that those feelings are natural for us.

Yes, I think it's normal to feel vulnerable esp at first. I don't think about it too much anymore unless in an unfamiliar place.
