Title: FFS with Dr. McGinn?
Post by: Blush on March 03, 2015, 10:19:27 AM
I've met with a few of the 'FFS surgeons' and haven't got that gut feeling that we're a good fit. I had SRS with Dr. McGinn and everything was just perfect! I feel completely comfortable with her, and while I have my FFS consultation scheduled soon, curisoity in the meantime is killing me, so perhaps some of you folks have some info on her and FFS!  :D

Hi Blush,

I went to Dr. McGinn last Monday for a consultation. She said I have a lot of feminine facial features.

She does not do extensive bone work. She does brow shaving and can not tell you how much can be removed without an x-ray. If your brow needs minimal work then that may work.

She recommended my brow (needs minimal work) be shaved while I have a forehead reduction and eye lift. She said my eyes and eye lids are fine.

She asked how I feel about my nose and I said I love my nose, She said good because my nose is perfect.

She said she can not see my trachea and do not need it shaved, I said I can feel it and it bothers me a lot. She included a price for this.

She said my chin is good and only has a very minimal amount of squaring and does not need anything but that she does not do chin or jaw work. She said she could recommend me to someone in Boston if I feel I need it done.

She recommended a lip lift and rejuvinex injections.

She recommended I get my hair corrected after the forehead reduction ( I have plenty of donor hair). She recommended a Doctor in Charlotte NC. I called them today (so glad I did)
they said it is a 6 month wait after the forehead surgery. I said I am in a very public job and the scar from the surgery concerns me. It was suggested that A-Cell be used in the incision so skin grows back and not a scar form. Very good information.

She sad I am not a candidate for the one step GCS method and would need a two step process. I will be having a orchi first.

It was recommended my breasts stop growing a while before a BA but a lot of girls do it while they are growing still.

That's a great idea! I'll be sure to have skull xrays in hand ready for my consultation. Thanks so much Cynthia!

I think she's too inexperienced, and her prices seem to be on par with more experienced Surgeons like, Speigler, Meltzer, Zukowski, etc.

I met someone in person who had 40k+ worth of work with Dr. Spiegel and I couldn't tell where anything had been done. I had a consultation with him and the prices he charges in comparison are ridiculous.

How much did McGinn estimate for the FFS procedures in her consultation? I can't find any information about her rates for FFS surgeries anywhere

Dr McGinn's recommended procedures for me and costs:

Brow lift/ eye lift/ brow reduction $7,300,
Lip lift $4,300
Lip juvederm 2 viles $1,000,
Tracheal shave $4,300 (not recommended by the doctor but quoted due to request),
BA is about (not in my letter because I wanted to wait 3 more years at least) $7,500 and $1,300 to $2,000 for implants (from memory),
Chin, she said is a little square but looks fine with my face.
Orchi $$4,300 or GCS $19,500 after 1 year RLE ( I am not a candidate for type 1 gcs and would need a type 2)

I have all the letters or commitments for letters at present for every procedure except GCS due to lack of 1 year RLE.
