"We have to pass the federal non-discrimination legislation, and we need to pass it now," said Vice President Biden.
"In most states in this country, a couple who gets married at 10 AM risk being fired from their jobs by noon, and evicted from their home by 2 PM simply for posting their wedding photos on Facebook," said HRC President Chad Griffin. "The time has come in this country for full federal equality, nothing more, nothing less."
=====================
A real heart felt message from the US Vice president.

We stand in a time in history where we need just the final push. We need to push across the bride of discrimination.

In all honesty, this doesn't surprise me. Its getting closer to election year, they know it won't pass congress, so why not make the party look good to lgbt people for the next election and be able to point fingers at the other side.
If they had really wanted to pass something like this, they would have done it when they had more control.

Once again, LGBT people are just being used as political pawns. We have one party that panders to those who outright hate us and another that needs to do nothing more than counter that with lip service instead of actions. I'm sure we actually have allies and foes in both parties, but in politics (and no thanks to the SCOTUS), the game is to get yourself elected (or re-elected yet again) in order to pave the way for the corporations that paid big bucks to get you elected in the first place. If only there was big money in queer rights...
And if Biden is the best we can do for an ally in Washington, I guess we'll still be waiting a long time.
