I've been on estrogen for just under a year... eleven and a half months to be exact... I've been on e with anti androgens for eight months and ive been on e and AA's and micronized progesterone all at much higher dosages than before for about three months... I have an a cup at the most and it would be considered a small underdeveloped a cup im sure... my question is how long do breasts take to grow for trans women? do I still have a chance at ending up at least a small b? I haven't noticed any noticeable growth in the past couple months and im getting worried... theres no way I can afford a breast augmentation anytime soon... maybe six months from now ill have a job and that will be different. im nineteen and started at eighteen if that helps and my mom is a large C... also I don't know if this is allowed but is there any site which shows a lot of trans womans breast growth so I can see what to expect? What size did you end up after hrt and how long did they keep growing for??

Not everyone responds to hrt in secondary puberty.

I also was on hrt for 5 years before i had BA.

Needed BA due to my size.

Spurt of growth on and off. I also did a few resets to help.

I was unlucky. But its about what i wanted, natural failed but saline made my life happier.

up to about 5 years. their size will fluctuate with your weight.

It depends on your genetics - look at your mother or siblings and you can expect a size of 1-2 cups below. It also takes time, and one year is a short time so give it a chance and it grows in spurts.

Genetics is basically it.

I "won" the lottery because my female relatives are basically well endowed. As such at 3 months I am 34B.

However some girls don't even get AA cups after 2 years.

The good news is you can do BA. Still cheaper than FFS which you don't seem to need. :)

if you're talking to me,  no. Basically i had a severe case of gynecomastia, but the good side is that while im loosing a lot of weight, my breast are getting  a lot more perkier, firm and round. 

It's funny to realized that when i was a boy a was super ashamed of having boob, now I m like super grateful with god for my genetics.

If you look at breast growth in cis-women ( during puberty) they take several years to fully blossom.

We're going through a second puberty, and it will take as long as they do.

Don't get BA until at least 2 years, preferably 3 on hrt. You're young yet!

My apologies. I took that as meaning your breast growth was caused by the HRT, not that you had breasts before starting.

Also, I second Beth on waiting at least a few years before considering augmentation. Your tissue will continue growing on top of the implants and you'll have no control over the final outcome. If you wait, your surgeon will be able to give a result that closer matches your expectations (provided your expectations are realistic to begin with of course)

I didn't get any growth until Mr. Happy was gone. Then about half of me became fatty and half silicon (or whatever they put in those nasty bags). I've since lost a lot of weight and not much fatty tissue remains, but the bags are still in there after 25 years!

That's disheartening. My mother is practically flat (and complains constantly about it). My sister is, from her own set of complaints, rather well-endowed, but I took very strongly from my mother's genetics, whereas my sister took more from my father's.

The relationship between "nearest female relative and MtF breast size" is a general rule, but it is not a Thou Shalt Haveth..." firm rule.

My grandmother on my paternal side had no breasts (double mastectomy in her early 20s) the other had enooouuuuuurmous breasts. My Mother is flat as a pancake. I wear a 34b after 4 or so years on hrt.. its luck of the draw. I really don't think it can really be predicted.

I have mixed feelings about BA. I don't like foreign objects or substances in my body...I don't even take pills for headaches. Weird, given the whole trans thing, right?

No, seriously, I've heard everything from 2 to even 10 years.   I'm personally going to wait to see what I get until I'm 5 years post-orchi before I break down and go in for implants.

No growth for about two years on HRT, then a year of growth. Ended up size AA. No real growth since then.
For me age was probably a factor. You are young and still quite early on in HRT so I wouldn't give up on more growth to come.

I know there's no clear cut answer but estimates and anecdotal experiences was what I was looking for

I have been on HRT (low dosage) for 2 years and I have 44B in Breast size. It took about 14 months to reach 44A Cup and most growth has been in the last 6-8 months. They are still growing. They also don't grow at the same time. Today my right breast is particularly painful and itching. Last week it was my left breast. Another thing was I looked seriously into getting Breast Augmentation in November last year. I have been looking at Dr Kim in Los Angeles

I just love his work or a local surgeon in Australia - Andrew Ives, but after advice from Cis girlfriends and close female relatives they all advised men to wait for at least 4 years to go past before really considering it. I am glad I did s I have already added a full Cup size. My mother by the way was DDD sixze. I also have two cousins on my mothers side of the family with EE size breasts and my grandmother was apparently DD too. But various TG girlfriends and CIS girlfriends all advised me to be patient and wait longer. I did and I am a B Cup and still growing!

Ideally I would like C or D Cup, but well rounded.

So my advice is be patient. One smart move I did though was to invest in a pair of really good AMOENA silicon breast forms (normally supplied to cancer mastectomy patients. They are a bit pricey, but look very real with natural feel and shape and bounce). Mind you now that I am a B Cup I have had to get bigger size in Bras - I am generally now wearing Padded B Cup bras without the AMOENA Inserts or C Cup bras with them.
The important ting about using the Amoena  breast forms is that they move just as real breasts would and really help at making one pass (especially if you are wearing a well fitting bra (I like Mark & Spencer Underwire cotton bras).

There are growth periods where this isn't any pain at all and sometimes there is, it's not always going to be constant. Just because they don't hurt doesn't mean they aren't maturing. There isn't really any after hrt since we're on it for the rest of lives. From everything I've read changes can still happen at 5+ years. No one can tell you what your final size will be.

I wouldn't worry so much about cup sizes either since they're are super relative for example I'm a 32b but that's the equivalent of a 34a in cup volume. What I worried about the most when I first started hrt was my breast maturity. I felt really odd having pubescent boobs and was so ready for them to get past those early stages asap. I knew I wasn't going to have huge boobs either since the women in my family have small busts.

I'm like a week away from my 3 year mark and they're pretty full/matured. I notice when I gain weight they become a bit fuller. So yeah Idk what my cup size might be in two years from now if I continue to gain weight. I know mine aren't done growing at all yet either cause they're still pushing through into the final stage of growth. I think once that's over, my growth will level off. I've been documenting my progress with the tanner stages. My doctor said I was at stage 4 and I don't think I'll reach the last stage until I get grs.

Mine have grown to a 36b in about a year of estrogen, I went onto an anti androgen at the end of last month and that has made a slight difference but nothing huge. They still feel tender to the touch and it wakes me up if I roll over onto them in the night.

Hrt only gave me mild changes up until recently, entering my second year, when I've started getting more fat redistribution. I know a woman who says she got virtually no breast growth for years until after Srs when they finally started to grow. So it really is different for everyone.

The good news is that you have a lot going for you besides boobs. And if they don't grow, well you never know where you'll be financially in five years.  :)

As quite a few people have mentioned genetics play a major part as to how much you will receive, certainly for gland development. Diet can also play a part too as breasts are also composed of fat.

Breasts don't grow linear during your time on HRT. I had an initial burst of growth in the first few months to a 36A cup and then a very slow fill out to a 36B in the following six months after. After losing muscle I went down to a 34 band and the corresponding sister size of 34C. The breasts have once again been growing and are now both a small 34D in the last couple of months. I'm currently almost 17 months on HRT.

I have to mention I've also stopped dieting since January and have just been pigging out on all sorts of junk putting back on 4kg or about 9lb. Some of it has gone to my hips and some to my boobs.

Female puberty can be a long and gradual process; and even for cis women can take up to 10 years for any significant breast growth.

The fact is very few trans women have the luck to develop nicely shaped C-cups (for example) while having healthy body fat percentage.

I dont think you need a c cup to feel feminine, I see it a lot as a standard writing here by trans women, I am probably not getting a c cup, my mom as a d cup but she had children, and your boobs grow when you are pregnant, and my sister who is 2 years older than be has a 32b i think, so I will probably get there, on ther other hand all the girls in my family have wide hips, so maybe I will get luckier there.

Usually it's just genetics but it also takes a long time!
And for people that don't want foreign object or substance in their body like me, I heard some people get their own fat injected in the boobs too, so maybe that's an option for someone to look at. I am not sure how it works or about the results tho...

There is stem cell treatment for BA now. Maybe that is an option.

As for cup size don't get hung up on it. Proportion is the key. I know very sexy cis women even with A cups and not so attractive ones with D cups. I really don't like the look of overly big fake boobs. Nicely proportioned ones to match your shape and size definitely.

Every woman's breasts develop differently, it doesn't really matter whether cis or trans, just as some folks are taller or shorter some are going to be larger or smaller,

Thumbs up for us gynecomastia girls! I remember the shame well. Actually, for me it was fear. My chest hurt and I didn't know why! Glad now of course. So many things about my body I was disturbed by,but they all fit in now. 

Getting decent growth and I'm in no hurry, plus, I saw a woman on Jeopardy last night who had the same breast positioning I do. If I look half that good I'll be pleased.

In keeping with the thread, six months, large B or small C. Not rounded yet. Sounds large, but on a 42" chest? Pfft!

I was a 36D after 24 months of HRT... After month 1 I was an A cup.. a B cup came I think about 3 to 4 month.. then C by 12 months.. then almost no growth... and I lost a band size during as well during my trip. I am happy with my size... 36D... Maybe when I am older and things start sagging I will go and have things perked up and then go up to DD. 

the rule saying expect 1 to 2 cups smaller than the woman in your family.. well me it did not apply.. I technically bigger than my mom.. she wears 34D bra.. My mother says her grandmother had huge breasts... she thinks a DDD.. so maybe I inherited those.. as I did get must of my features from my mother.. I saw a picture of my mother the other day when she was around my age.. and we look a like twins lol... we have the exact same body type.

Everyone is different, but generally it takes several years (think 3-5 years) of HRT to develop whatever genetics and luck will provide.  (In my case after 3+ years HRT I fill out a "B" cup nicely. I do have a 48" band size; physically the Girls are about the size of a baseball, and very arousing to the touch.)

Cis girls take 5-10 years, and there's no reason to think we'll be much different since it's the same mechanism.

I'm 5+ years on HRT and growth has basically stopped, though there's maybe been a small addition of fat deposit (just enough to fill out the cups of a bra a little more) over the past year or so. My mother is 34B... and I'm 42DDD. My sister and I clearly take after a busty grandmother!

I am a year into HRT and I am a C cup but I got to 6 about six months ago, they are still growing though not too much further out but around, I am hoping I can get to D cup before the growth stops. I am actually fine with my breast size right now though so if they even stay this size I don't think I will get BS surgery.

One thing that does suck is stretch marks, sadly while I had phenomenal growth they are very noticeable on my boobs :(

It will take precisely double the amount of time to reach full breast development that it took to get half way there.

I can attest to this. My chesticles were generally small, started breast growth at 13 and it took 8 years to get to the size they were before starting T.

Something that EVERYONE should know about breast implants is that you will grow scar tissue around them and they will harden. I kept mine soft for 15 years by daily squishing them very hard to break that scar tissue. But it has grown in spite of that. Mine are not hard but you can tell there is something in there. Every one of the people that I personally knew at the time I had mine done have had theirs go hard as a rock. The only thing that can be done is to have them removed and replaced. The surgeon may opt to cut out scar tissue as well. But then you'll have the same problem.

If you are small and slender, I'd advise you not to get them. Lot's of women have small breasts. Due to my shape, I pretty much need something there to make a more female outline of my figure. But I am not going to have them replaced. I have no scars and I don't want any. I just don't hug anyone tightly in greeting.

I started HRT 3 years ago on a low dose and 1.5 years ago on a proper dose.  Even on the low dose I had some growth up to A/B cup.  The growth seemed to pick up for a while after moving into the higher dose.  So now I'm at a C cup, 36C to be specific.  I used to think I was a 38C due to measuring but the band would ride up during the day so I had to drop a band.  A good bra also will help give you more shape and profile than what you see when you are naked.  I'm not saying you need a padded bra, though those can rule, but just that you should get a good bra.
The key thing to remember is that it takes a while and you should just be patient. 

As far as BA goes, I know somebody that got hers back in 1991 and they never got hard or had any issues.  Just saying it can happen though the trend does sound like most get a hard layer around it.
Another option that has some appeal is where they reuse some of your fat to pump the girls up.  It doesn't do much beyond a single cup size and requires you to have the extra fat.  I'd love to relocate fat from my middle to my micro booty and the girls.  Maybe someday.

I should add that HRT these days isn't what I used when I transitioned. It is much better I think. Doctors have finally come around to what works.

  I'm at 16 months on estrogen and about 34B, having started from ribs-flat.  Two of the cis-female medical professionals I deal with regularly are naturally almost completely flat-chested.  There's no normal.  All I wanted going into this was to not end up with weird-looking breasts.  I'm quite ecstatic with what I have now on all counts and they look plenty big-enough with the right bras.  They seem to still be growing though.  No stretch marks to report.

Anna, for me it took about 4 years to start filling a B cup (34B) now at just over 10 years I fill, but not much measurable change for last couple of... I started late in life (ahem ~ 50).

As others have said it depends on your endocrine system!

I just bought two victoria secret bras LOL. It's called the Bombshell and it adds two cup sizes yay!
The price is a bit steep $59 USD each. However, it is good for now until I can get my BA.

Cap sizes can very from AA to D i think :) 34 -40 Band size.
