It might make some difference here and there but age is not a deal breaker. Obviously, depending on how old you are now, being able to stop the effects of the undesired hormone (sorry I don't know if you are m2f or f2m) will possibly save you from a lot of procedures later (be it beard removal/trachea shaves/mastectomy or whatever). But if you're already developing or have developed those secondary sexual characteristics you won't be able to reverse them with HRT anyway so it won't make a massive difference now. Even if you start at 18 you'll do fine.

Thanks for the reassurance Grace :D
m2f (close to age 16) by the way.
I think i am at the beginning of the developing of those characteristics right now so that's out of the window, but my voice hasn't changed yet suprisingly, and i was called a female over the phone once which was quite exciting.

Cool. Obviously some of those secondary male characteristics will kick in more over the next few years. Even if you don't intend to transition just yet you could talk to a therapist about exploring the possibility of T blockers if they are available to minors in your area. It's not ideal and a qualified doctor or Endo will be able to discuss the potential drawbacks but it should help stop your masculine features fully developing if they believe it is safe for you to use it.

I understand your concerns. You are still very young though, and will not have had testosterone running through your blood for that long. You will have a faster healing rate after any surgeries, and your vocal cords will not have thickened as much as they would if you were in your thirties or forties.
People have started HRT and surgery much later in life and have had good results, so don't let your age worry you too much.

I transitioned at 53. I'm very happy with the results.
Take your time. Do it when it feels right to you. You'll be able to have the transition you want.
