Title: We're all in this together.
Post by: StrykerXIII on March 15, 2015, 12:31:55 PM
I've been seeing people catching flak on facebook groups from other members of the trans/nonbinary community for things like unconventional fashion choices, passing, etc., and I just needed to get this off my chest.

We're all in this together.

It doesn't matter which side of the gender spectrum you're on - or if you even have a gender. The fact of the matter is, we're all in this fight together whether we like it or not. You may look at someone and think, "Oh, they do NOT pass, they don't need to be doing that"...but keep that to yourself, please. There's no need to drag someone down because they don't see things the same as you.

As Abraham Lincoln said, "A house divided against itself cannot stand". Even if we can't all see eye-to-eye, we all need to be able to, at the very least, tolerate each other long enough to see our rights finally be acknowledged. In a way, we're an army...and an army that fights itself can only lose the battle.

I reiterate - we are all in this together.

I've seen too many such things on FB or in emails from certain people...that's one of the reasons I got off FaceBook, and off certain mailing lists. There's no reason to read hate from within.
