So I just got the new Legend of Zelda game, Majora's Mask, yesterday. I was wondering what your opinion of it is.

Congrats and enjoy. I am myself a huge Zelda fan. I am not spoiling anything but the game is a port of a N64 game. It is thought as of the if not one of the best Zelda games or at least the most favorite. I myself, do not feel the same way. It does take place after Ocarina of Time, so if you like that game you will like this one most likely. Having said that, it does expand upon stuff and has a different feel to it.

I am kind of playing through it now on my 3DS and while I have always heard that it was amazing and all that I actually am having a hard time enjoying it. It seems to aimless and strays from the standard LoZ formula enough that it is just the odd stepbrother in comparison to OoT and the others. I have been suggested that a strategy guide might help but that alone counts against the game to me.

Actually the original MM was one of my top favorite LoZ games, (next to Windwaker and OoT of course) and I was so excited for it to come out. Unfortunately, when I went to pick up a copy, they were sold out, and I haven't really been so good with my money so I need to save up again. Game prices just keep going up... But very excited to play it.

I played the game for the first time last year. (I downloaded it on my Wii.)
It was certainly different. It was nice to play a Nintendo 64 game that I missed out on. It made me feel nostalgic.
I enjoyed it. Repeating the same three days in the game's world added a new layer of strategy. I'll admit though, it started getting old towards the end of the game, and I just wanted to be done with it.
It's the kind of game I'd play through only once and have no interest in playing again.

OMG am I so old already that the N64 is a relic of the past?

Quote from: skin on March 21, 2015, 03:38:50 PMYeah, that's what I was thinking. I was going to ask what made Majora's Mask a new game. Sure, it's being rereleased on a handheld system, but I thought everyone into the Zelda games was familiar with the original MM. ???

The NES one came out when I was 5 months old, but I still played it growing up. Don't parents force their kids to go through the progression of gaming before they get the new stuff? You know, back in my day before we didn't have this newfangled world wide web. You know what we did instead? Go outside Play video games. My sister and I played everything, Even we got a shiny new Nintendo 64, that didn't mean we abandoned our intellivision, NES, or SNES - we appreciated them all and still do today. Kids these days, I swear - no respect for what got us here.

This is so true. I have problems with this when it comes to my brother. I loved and still love the classic, in fact I prefer them.

I finished Majoras Mask and I was very satisfied with the game. I followed a guide to get all the optional stuff, and I even got the Fierce Diety Mask! The mask is completely OP!

It's been 15 years since I played the game, so I may be misremembering, but I thought the final bus was difficult enough to consider the mask necessary. So it was either way difficult without it, or way easy with it.

I really liked this game for the N64 when I was a kid. However, I never got around to beating it...probably due to the fact I was so young. Shame I don't have a 3ds or money for one to play this game :C...maybe one day.

I remember playing this on my Nintendo 64.
I was also pretty proud of myself as well. I beat most (I didn't get all of the masks.) of the game. I remember really enjoying the story and the game-play.
My first Legend of Zelda was Ocarina Of Time. That was such an immersive and really great world to play in.
What was your first Zelda?
