Post by: AleksiJason on March 23, 2015, 04:03:57 AM
Any guys here lose weight after top surgery? and how did it effect your results?

I've been working out my pecs but have a good 40 lbs to lose as well.  Am worried how it will effect my results

if my chest will look better or worse after the weight loss

I lost weight both before and after surgery. I had my top surgery with Dr. G in July of 2014, started working out again after a couple of months and now I'm back to doing weight lifting. The weight change hasn't affected my chest. I would say the muscle growth as done more to change the appearance than the fifteen pounds I've lost. I think I look better now that my muscles are filling back in.

Do you have comparison pics Ayden?

I had mine Feb 2014 with dr. G

It's hard to believe more than a year has gone by....it feels like it was just yesterday i was in his office, then on the surgery table, then recovering at new beginnings

I can't believe it's been six months for me. I still sometimes find myself wondering if I need to wash a binder.

I looked through my pictures but I don't have much. I have a few old ones but the quality is pretty terrible. (Old phone camera). If I can find a way to take a picture and obscure my tattoo I'll post one of me now. My tattoo is pretty distinct and I'm stealth so I don't want anyone to be able to say "I know that person!"

Tape a piece of paper over it.

um yeah he keeps saying in all different threads hes gonna post a pic but never does.....and its pretty easy to photoshop a tattoo out of a picture

if u dont wanna post a pic of your results then dont  that totally up to you but dont keep saying u will if you arent planning on it

plus i dont think anyone is reading these forums or even knows this forum exists who knows u in person..... unless they are also trans....do u really think the people u know in real life spend their free time reading transgender posts in forums online?

Discretion is the better part of valor.

Better if no pic is posted  if you don't have one that fits your comfort level, since once it is posted, it will be out there for all to see forever. This is the internet, after all, and once it is out there, there is no taking it back.

Many people read these forums, they are publicly available. To be cautious about what you share publicly is a wise thing.

KAT is right. Don't post a picture if you aren't comfortable with the prospect of having it out there pretty much forever. And don't underestimate the sheer determination of haters and stalkers who get some weird idea in their heads that they want to hunt you down and expose your legal identity to the world. I've seen it happen. Then, ANYONE--not just folks on trans forums--can stumble across you and find out that you are trans.

And just a warning: Please tone down the attitude.

i highly doubt cis people are spending their free time reading posts in transgender forums....and by mentioning the prospect of having possible stalkers come out of it shows self obsession and absorption and is a slight risk ANYONE, cis or trans gay or straight man or woman black or white.....faces on the internet....not just us special little trans snowflakes

i have no problem with people not comfortable posting a picture.....but then why keep saying post after post on multiple threads that u will post one when u arent comfortable and have no plans of posting one?

oh and btw....if u have a facebook with your pic and name up you are way more likely to run into a problem than on here....FB is the biggest social network site and the most insecure yet everyone has one

I feel you Ayden, I'm not planning on posting any pictures of my surgery either for much the same reason. Besides, there are a lot of pics out there already. Don't blame you at all dude.

As for the OP, I did talk to my surgeon and nurses about weight loss after surgery. All they had to say was "we can't tell you, everyone is different." Lol. But I can't fault them for that. They said it was ideal to be at a realistic weight for myself...they said they see too many people who push themselves too hard and lose too much for them to maintain long term and that's usually worse, gaining afterwards.

I know in the future I will weigh less...I gained right before surgery since work was pretty stressful. It will drop off once I've returned since I have less pressure on me. Honestly I'm open to the possibility of having a revision if necessary since I don't have any visible scars.

We have  number of cis members. Many read who don't post. I imagine curiosity is part of that.

As to weight loss after surgery, I'm still working on before surgery as well as getting funds in the first place.

 :police:

I will remind people of ToS 6 and ToS 10.

Anyone bashing members for not wishing to post pics are running foul of the site rules.

um im not bashing anyone for not wanting to post pictures

this guy keep saying hes going to (in multiple threads) and never does

i already said i have no problem with people who choose not to.... but then dont go saying you are going to post pics in multiple threads and never do it....its annoying.

and also how do u know there are cis members if they dont post?  do u personally message everyone who signs up and asks if they are cis or trans?
