Title: my girlfriend and broke up today

Ladies My girlfriend and I broke up today after a year together. she does not understand my being transgender. S :embarrassed:he.fell in love with my male mask and cant accept the genuine me even though she.os BI.I just told her 6 weeks ago. I waited because of other major stress in her life. I took the risk and knew this could happen. I feel sad, but I know who I am and.my life moves on. its just painful today and.will be until she.moves out. Are there any other of my fellow sisters lose a partner due to being trans? Any support is appreciated Hugs Danielle

I lost my partner, we were together for 7-8 months after I started my transition, she was supportive but in the end she told me she wasn't attracted to me any longer.
All breakups hurt but I feel like they hurt even more when both people still love each other, the reality is however that some people like girls, some like boys and some like both, you can't change that and it plays a major part in our selection of significant other.
I know you are hurting but it gets better, remember that logically knowing this could happen and processing it emotionally are different things.

It can be a very emotional time for both of you. How long have you been sorting this out? Your whole life? And she gets a few weeks, literally. Sometimes life sucks. I'm very sorry for you. FWIW, my hubby just left me after 24 years together. I told him on our second date. His parting excuse was he needed a real woman. Well, dandy for him. Now I'm ready to find that millionaire guy on his deathbed who wants to get married on the day he dies. That's a joke. I don't think I want anyone else ever again. I sort of like my own space. If I want to be around people, I have great friends.

my ex and I broke up after like a 10 year relationship. She knew for about 5 years, but we were miserable for a long time because of it, and stuck together for the wrong reasons.
its great that you have the courage to be true to yourself. I never had that courage for a long time. I know this is a tough time for you, but it does get better with time. I think a lot of people have a hard time because of how it can potentially affect them as well. It puts your spouse in the crosshairs for criticism and ridicule.

ladies thank you for all your support. it took me 30 year's of struggling to figure this.out and have the internal peace as a result. I am going to go to counseling with her to try to better help her.understand and deal with her pain and anger.I love her and decided to try this to save our relationship. I will keep you all posted. we might have broken up but I still. love her and hope counseling helps. hugs danielle
