Indiana's anti-LGBT law a preview for 2016?

LZ Granderson for CNN

"(CNN)Barney Frank, to say the least, knows his way around politics. In a Chicago appearance recently, the retired congressman had the sold-out crowd at the Center on Halsted well entertained as he detailed his 45-year journey in public service."

One can argue these bills are the last gasps of a dying ideology but if this is indeed a preview for 2016 we all need to be very vigilant.

I don't like the "we're winning" meme. Ask the Green Bay Packers. They were winning through nearly all of the playoff game that ended up sending the Seahawks to the Super Bowl and the Packers to watch the game on a couch eating stale cheese curls.

The Florida bathroom bill is a nastier example. The Indiana bill is an annoyance at worst. The Florida bill will kill people, driving some to suicide who otherwise would be comfortable exploring their gender.

Too many times we have underestimated Fox News and their ability to bring about or stifle change.

Indiana Republicans openly admit the new law allows discrimination against LGBT people.
