Title: Need advice

So I feel better identifying as a guy, but I don't know if,when the time comes, I should transition or not. I'm still a closeted FtM trans and I don't know if I should tell my family/friends and see if they can help me or keep it a secret till I'm out of the house.

Hi Nicky and welcome to Susan's
Please check out the following links for general site info...
If you can get your family to support you to see a therapist it would be a great help to let you decide how you want to proceed.
This journey is a long one and some family are supportive but others not so much..
Be we are here to help!
Welcome

Nickystrout,
Welcome to Susan's Family
Me personally I am on the need to know basis along with no one should share there Gd until one has a official diagnosis.
I would work close with your therapist on moving forward.

Welcome to Susan's, Nicky. Only you can decide whether or not transition is right for you. Read all the information you can find. If possible visit a good gender therapist who can help you sort out your thoughts.

Hello *hugs*
you could have a look here for a few thoughts:
https://www.susans.org/forums/index.php/topic,184920.msg1644403.html#msg1644403
Well its up to you what you say since you know them best... and if...
some people drop some hints... others come out in a letter, and show some materials like vids later...
you might ask for a counselor...
I'd say take the time you need...
its a process, but many have gone it before and succeeded, and people here will try to support you.
And you might keep asking questions, alone writing might help getting a better view...
hugs

Hi Nicky, welcome to Susans. In the end you are the only one who can decide. I agree with others a good gender therapist would be a good start. I shared my diagnosis mostly on a need to know basis except for the core people around me who I openly shared with in the first. Many of my relatives were not told and won't be told because they have no need to know. If you end up needing the support of your parents to get the help you need then you need to take into account how they will react and way all your options both long and short term in deciding what to do at this point. Good Luck and hugs
Mariah
