Title: Hrt requirements?
Post by: ItsTess on April 07, 2015, 06:38:42 PM

My therapist says I can only start hrt once I'm 18 and have had a certain amount of time in therapy. I'm not 18 yet but I've been in therapy for 2 years so does that mean that I can start once I turn 18 or does the time in therapy required for hrt start when I turn 18?
I don't know it this was the best place to post this so sorry if it belongs somewhere else.

Sounds like miscommunication between you two. I would say the best way to find your answer is to ask your therapist what he meant. I can't imagine you would have to see a therapist much longer if you've been going two years already. Probably just going to wait til you turn 18 and then go over hrt briefly with you unless he has already done so . :)

Hmm. It depends where you live, but most countries that provide legal hrt allow you to start at age 16, with a limited amount of therapy. You should prbably just ask your therapist though, I could be very wrong.
