ADA — "Columbus attorney Tara McBride said she wanted everyone in the audience to take one thing with them from her presentation if they did not take anything else."

"Being transgender is not a choice," McBride said. "I wouldn't wish this on anybody. This chooses you."

Most of the posted comments at the bottom of page aren't worth reading btw.  It's the usual mix of comments by bigots, mouth breathers and concrete operational thinkers.

Edited layout moved link up under headline.

Regrettably it's like driving by a car crash, most of the times I just have to look.  Maybe I'm just hopeful that this will be the time things change.  Unfortunately it hasn't happen yet.  I think the only thing it proves though is that comment sections are predominately populated by the severely ignorant.

Have a good night Lady Smith,
Paige :)

Amen to not wishing it on anybody.  Nobody would ever choose this.
I would even say that it's a life threatening birth defect that if not treated could easily lead to death.  The treatment happens to have a physical component that changes how you look.

Some of the comments below the article were pretty interesting.  I have a thick skin.  In particular I liked the folks in our court that espoused the scientific research that has been done and how this happens.  While I have seen such and more before I wondered while reading the comments if there might not eventually be a test that can be done to detect it.
