Title: A strange acceptance today
Post by: Cindy on April 13, 2015, 06:44:14 AM
I went to yet another financial planner today. Trying to get some help with nursing home fees.

After a while looking through documents she asked me. 'What happened to her husband? 'he should be contributing not just you, her daughter '

Ahh I am her husband.

Blank look.

I enjoyed it, sorry!

Not trying to nitpick, but I think even we often have trouble avoiding masculine generic pronouns. 🙂

Thanks for sharing that wonderful Cindy moment  ;D

I feel for you though with having problems with nursing home fees at the moment.  Eventually I was able to set up funding for Mum, but until that was sorted there were a lot of costs that were really difficult for me with my sole income being my invalid pension to afford.  It didn't help either that the nursing home wasn't up front about certain extra costs with Mum's care that fell outside of the range of available funding.  Needless to say Mum isn't at that nursing home anymore!

Sorry about the nursing home costs.
