So I have an appointment with Dr Rumer in Philly soon, I was seeking out if anyone has worked with her before?  I will have SRS paid for by Highmark insurance, so does anyone know if is it true she really works with the insurance companies rather than require payment up front then make you reimburse?

Also if you had worked with her, was it a simple process and her work is well worth it?

I met her and her husband at the Philly Trans Health Conference last year. (She will be there again this year.) She's very pleasant to talk to, but I haven't met anyone that has had SRS with her. I met someone who had FFS with her and they were very pleased. I would like to hear about results from patients that has had SRS with her. I wasn't aware she took insurance (I don't think she did last year) but it's good to know that she does.

I had SRS with Dr. Rumer last year. I self-financed, so can't say how insurance friendly she is. She made the whole process really easy. I've had no major complications and I'm happy with my depth. I posted a detailed review here:

I had a consultation with her today. When I initially emailed and asked about insurance the reply was that she does accept it. But during the consultation it turns out that you pay up front and then you have to work with your insurance company for reimbursement. She's not part of any insurance network so you will be paying your out of network, out of pocket max for her. I'm just going to get on the wait list for bowers. Even with the travel involved it would still be way less expensive for me to go cross country and stay a month.

I'm also very interested in anybody's reviews/thoughts/experiences of Dr. Kathy Rumer.  I had a Skype consult with her today.  I was extremely impressed by the pictures she showed me of the 1 year post-op vulvas of a few of her patients.  They looked natal female and she said that was an example of her typical results.  She'll be getting me contact info for some of her patients.  I'd also like to hear from patients of hers that aren't specific references. ;)  I'm most concerned about aesthetics of the vulva, clitoris, urethra, and vaginal opening.  Depth isn't as important to me.  I prefer women, and I'm sure myself and any of my partners will be able to find toys to accommodate whatever depth I end up with. lol  My biggest fear, I suppose, is ending up with a vulva where the lips don't come together, the urethra and urethra "meat" are like BAM, right there, and then my vaginal opening is a few inches south of my urethra/clit.

You probably saw the same examples that I did. I have a lot of hesitation over those pictures. They were a bit too good and I done think they were from a trans woman. If those are in fact pics of her work, then she hands-down creates the best that I've ever seen out of any surgeon in the world.

True. I think they are too good to be true. Or the vulva looks good but obscures the mess in the interior. I saw a pictures direct from two of her patients. They were both around six months post-op. I know they were still healing, but I was very unimpressed with the results. I felt bad for the women who had to live with them. After some internal debate and discussions with close friends, I decided to separate surgeries out: I'm getting ffs done in a couple months by Mayer. I'm hoping my health plan will begin covering srs next year or the year after, and then I may be stuck going to Kuzon at u of M. I've heard some good thing about him, but have not seen the pictures first hand.

I saw one from a Rumer patient and it was far from what she showed. It was actually quite bad. Luckily my insurance covers and I'm going to Bowers, she's actually in my network so I only have to pay 10% out of pocket.
