Title: Smal little victory
Post by: michelle82 on April 18, 2015, 04:48:58 PM
Today i went to a public playground with my 3 year old daughter and despite being absolutely terrified i pulled it off without freaking out about passing.

Evem though i was dressed pretty casually dressed. I felt very feminine and i did up my hair really cute with some assecories.

I think i kinda passed, i did get some stares
But i cant be sure or not. I even had some conversations with the other parents and didnt feel any wierd vibes!

This was a important victory for me. Especially given the setting! Hopefully it will be even easier next time.

Cool! Every little victory helps build your confidence.

Thanks grace, it sure does! I feel like starting HRT has also given me a boost of confidence as well.

I still have that fear, not for nothing my 4 year old son loudly calls me daddy without any reservations.

Today though I was pulling the wagon with them in it in a store, a woman passes by, I pull it to get out of her way and by accident my daughter hits her head on a shelf.

The woman immediately says, "oh sorry! Mommy needs to give you an ouchie!" and then points at me. Needless to say I was elated. (My wife wasn't there but her older daughter was)

I also got stared at today by a guy and I thought I was being clocked, then his girlfriend or wife or whoever hit him and said, "why the f... are you staring at her?" LOL. I think I was being checked out and not in a "clocked" way.

Yeah today is really warm and I had to take off the outer layers. It's fairly obvious I have a female form - boobs, waist and some hips and butt. Face is the only thing I'm nervous, plus voice.

We pass more than we think we do.

Thanks for sharing Kate, my daughter does the same thing. A few times she yelled out "daddy" when she was playing, I just had to roll with it. I'm happy that you had a good experience as well!

How ironic. So what almost ended as a good day unfortunately ended with me driving home late tonight and while sitting at a red light the car next to me had a few young teenagers who decided to all look and stare at me and continue to gawk like I was some kind of freakshow.

Two steps forward one step back.

Take the good.

Teenagers in the car, sorry they stared.
